One thing...the "search by" thing...is that going to be a drop-down? Or is that just informational?
I don't know if that'll be clickable, but I was a tad confused about that one part...but that's really it.
I think the addition of the banner explaining what the site is...great addition.
I know this is just a mockup, but didn't you have information "buckets" at the bottom of the page in a previous version? Quick links to headlines etc.
I think that would still work here if you wanted to bring those back.

The "Search Calendar" Click button will take you to the calendar database that has extensive features. The lower boxes on previous mock ups are now going to be there own pages. It seemed there was too much info on the homepage before. Like too many options that people wouldn't know why they are there. Does that make sense?
