I think you need to simplify this site on several levels. There are too many gradients, textures and alignments going on. The first concept is the best direction. i don't mind the layout of the large pic inside the bamboo and the column to the left. I would take down the size of the logo and bistro dragon text. Also, don't repeat the logo in the background.
