First, I like the colors, design, and the picks.
Just have a review about the type and text part after viewing the site link;
On the navigation type, maybe if you opened up the space between the letters I would be able to read them more comfortably. Maybe even try a different typeface, if it is still a bit difficult to read.
All the blue news button type needs to come up a couple points at least. They are very hard to read.
Final suggestion is to reword all your text. You have sentences that are way to long. Major grammar attention needed. I think the second paragraph is just one whole sentence.
Example of punctuation needing help: We went to the park, as well as, the zoo. ( , as well as, ) Check out paragraph 2 on the front page alone.
Who ever wrote the text needs to have another person proofread it and repair it.
