Very nice design, colors, and choice of font. I'd suggest moving the main navigation to a more conventional location up top. I understand this design might be trying to stand out from the pack, but messing with the position of the main nav might be too much.
I'd also stress the work and photographs over the blog posts, though it looks like the blog posts stress the photography as well.

I love the color scheme and layout. I agree with most on moving the nav under the logo. I would also add copy about the company above your blog section. That would give the corporate feel along with the blog feel. I would also repeat the top navigation in the footer horizontally and take the categories out. Are you going to have the right nav on every page? Then it really isn't needed in the footer.
