    Navigation, orange and footer

NAVIGATION From the screenshot, I'm guessing the part under the logo is a post. And the part below the navigation are two posts. So the navigation is splitting the navigation? As a visitor that confuses me.

As a web designer, if someone clicks "read more" in the first post, what will be the content of that area? Another post? The same thing? I can't think of anything that can make it work.

ORANGE Don't aim for a color scheme that goes with most photos, aim for one that will go with all and that mean black, white and shades of grey. It sounds boring, but you don't have to worry about being boring, the quality of the photos will take care of that. I've done enough photography websites to be able to claim that.

FOOTER The footer looks weird. It isn't aligned with the rest of the website. It looks like the kid that everybody makes fun of in high school. The same thing goes for the tiny text above facebook and twitter in the sidebar.

DESIGN I really like your design. The content you put above the navigation is good for the homepage, but I suggest you lose it for every pages beyond.

That's a good point about the footer. The text that is misaligned was definitely a forgotten detail. I am not sure what to do with the footer though. I have tried a lot of different angles with it but nothing has really grabbed me. Any ideas on what I could do with it, ideas welcome...

First, I would suggest that you start by moving the footer to the left to align with the logo and all the content above.

Second, the layout of your footer might look better if it was like Flickr's footer - http://www.flickr.com/ - meaning linear instead of columnar.

I agree with the recommended color scheme for photo websites. A lightly colored beige or off-white can work as well.
