    Hi Jens,

I spend some time today moving things around on you mockup. This is not a perfect solution as I would have to spend few hours first analysing your site. I didn't add any elements - just used what you put there.

If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

      Hi Michael,

I'm just blown away by the quality of reviews on ConceptFeedback. It's so refreshing getting a new visual perspective on something I've been buried in for the last couple of weeks. Thank you!

      • switching columns: we opted for placing the green column to the left as a eye-tracking study we did with Gazehawk showed us (not surprisingly) that the left hand side is the most looked at real estate. Since the green boxes is where the selling happens we decided to put that information there.
      • the header: I really like everything you did with the header. Very simple and inspiring.
      • very interesting how you put the reviews to the right of the text. It's a great idea because it lifts up some of the reviews to above the fold.

One specific question: you put the breadcrumb outside the dotted line container. My idea with that container was to keep all information which specifically relates to the essay stay inside that box. Any reason you put it outside?

      Kind regards, Jens

Jens :) It's the article people are interested in the first place. So let's them have it. Let them be hooked to your content and after that suggest membership. Not the other way round :)

      BREADCRUMBS

I think this is a better place for it.

      • Firstly because it's more prominent and you want people to understand where they are.
      • Secondly because I understand that an article is site's content and breadcrumbs are sited directions. Directions should not be inside the content box.

I hope my reasoning is clear :)

Breadcrumbs: good point. I'm going to move it outside the box.

Columns: I understand your logic, but we face the challenge that user's generally aren't searching for essays about jfk, they are simply searching information about jfk (or whatever the topic may be). They don't arrive in a buying mood. So when they discover that they have to register/pay, they bounce. Therefore we need to really show why registering might be worth the effort. Secondly, we actually tested both column placements and on the left had higher engagement. However, I really like the eye-path on your mockup, I think it's stronger than what I was able to come up with, so I'll give this some extra thought.

In any case, you've obviously given thought to each of your design decisions. I'll be following your reviews :)
