There are lots of good (and sometimes conflicting) graphic comments already, and for sure, this is a pleasant website and an improvement over your previous design.

My comments are more around the messaging. The main impression I have is that you guys have a nice sense of humor - "plan / eat / design / drink etc." and a passion for the work you do. But is that what you really want as my takeaway? I'm not sure I would hire you based on that. What's the payoff? I might suggest that this huge billboard area become a slider, as others have suggested, but I would want the second part of the message to be something along the lines of "your project - delivered on time, on budget, with excellence." I don't think you should automatically start showing off your portfolio up here, since it's the main section of the website below. Keep this area for your messaging, and think about what sets you apart from all the other planners / designers / coders that are out there. Why you?

More on the humor side: "News and rants" is cute, but I think it's a little self-indulgent. Why should your customers want to listen to you rant?

Overall, really clean design. nice, fun and friendly. Improve the messaging and key differentiators and I think it will really win.

    This design element

Doesn't really fit in with the rest of the clean look an feel, and the pin just looks odd.

  • 2

    The real estate here

I would probably remove the option to view work, and just have it as a jQuery slider, so that the work is sliding

  • 3

    backround image

odd paper - note pad effect doesn't fit with the rest of the clean minimalist look

  • 4

    social icons

again, these icons don't really suit the clean crispness of the site design

  • 5

    empty space

    make this empty space disappear....

  • 6

    Main Navigation

I would make the text bigger, and use a bolder font, similiar to that used in headings

  • 7

    Alignment

looks like you're out by a pixel or two here

  • 8

    2 abouts

    why?

    This Rocks!

This is very cool! I love it!!!

I like how you connected the Logo with the Nav Bar

It's cool how you design the logo to connect it with the Nav Bar! Really nice stuff! And you Nav Menu is also very cool, I like the hover effect!

Didn't you missed here "Welcome Stranger :P"

Shouldn't be here and Welcome Message? Just wondering cus' it looks so empty...

  • 12

I love this footer zone background!

You footer zone is cool, I really like it! Like the texture and the colors you have used!!! Awesome!

    Interesting with the papare pattern

I like the paper patter behind the content, but isn't the shadow too bold and strong? I think you should make it smoother because it's adding noise! You have used shadow only at the Nav Bar...and it's quite not in place! But I like how you highlight the Feature Projects with the paper!

    Reduce header size

I really like having big headers but this looks like, on low res screens, the header is all people will see. The design is lovely but I think it needs to be a bit smaller so that people understand there is more to the page than the graphics.

    make paper consistent?

This one is just a question, not sure if it's neccessary or not, but I would consider putting the hole punches on the same side for all boxes. I think this would make it look neater - but have no proof to back this up

    align columns

I would make sure the columns above and the columns below the number 3 match in size. Stick to the grid and the more structured look that works so well everywhere else will copy down here as well

  • 17

    bullet point images

Some nice orange bullet points here would help make things more attractive

  • 18

    column sizes (again - sorry)

I could make the contact info column below here line up with the two columns above, then enlarge the three columns to the left slightly. Again, this is mostly to give a sense of structure and order.

    move to the bottom

For me, when I see the copyright info I stop reading. Copyright means end of the page. I would suggest moving this under the navigation so that people don't miss the links underneath.

    reduce the drop shadow

I think the inner glow on this may be a bit much - it looks a bit muddy. I would consider either changing the colour (less grey, more orange/ red/ brown), or only having it on 1 or 2 sides

    I kinda like this

I've seen others suggest you delete this. I kinda like that it violates the space, but I would get rid of the "request a proposal" which implies a more formal response than "Let's talk" which I like. I think it's in keeping with the friendly feel you are projecting below.

    What's this?

I see that this is a testimonial, but I had to look real hard to get that. I thought it might be a tutorial or something. Put some big graphical quote marks around the quote and put a dash in front of the client's name so it's really obvious that this is (a) a quote and (b) who it's from. I would put "council of aging" below the client's name, not as the headline. I would increase the font size so this really pops out, and I am assuming that this will be a slider, and there will be multiple quotes shown. I also suggest getting rid of or changing this image. I don't think it's adding to the message.

    Get rid of this space

    Your bullet list is wasted

Founded: 2001 - ok, that's cred. location: Cincinnati, Ohio - unless you're going for mostly local clients, who cares? Core: website and db - good, that's helpful. but can't this be fleshed out more? I might add "hallmarks: clean design, tight code, project management, no stress, fun to work with..." and whatever other things about you that sets you apart from everyone else. clients: everyone but individuals and hairdressers, apparently - are their core areas of specialty you should highlight? company name - cute, but necessary? This is critical real estate - use it to set yourself apart. Highlight your key strengths, differentiators and value-add in the marketplace.

I'd move this below the bullet list
