    B Version with A Nav Menu :)

Posted on Aug 17, 2010 at 1:42 AM

Hi, I really like the B version of your concept, it's sure much more energetic and bright! But however I didn't liked how you embed the Nav menu! You should make another version and combine the Header of A version with B version! The Nav menu on the A version is much more better and easy!

I will use notes for the rest of the comment! (B version)

I love this header as well!!

I like this Header as well, but I think the B version is much more cooler and "new"!!! You just have to combine this Header and Nav menu with the B version!!

    Push the background down

The curve of the menu is lost when it goes flush with the background. If the background line is halfway down the menu buttons the whole thing will stand out more.

  • 3

    Reduce this is possible

Menu items that are of drastically different intent can be separated, or prioritised so it's clear where each customer type goes.

  • 4

    Clear up a bit

This area has a lot going on for very little reward. It relates to point 2 as well. (Contact Us, My Account), (Customer Service, Resource Center, About Us) - Your grouping seems a bit out of place. Also, I can't imagine a major benefit of registration since this is not a side used very often by most people so you might want to re-examine the priority of a login/register.

Never a fan of this style, because it looks like an afterthought that could not be part of the natural flow of the site. If they're part of the site, put them in. If they're a dramatically separate product, give them a section… drop down from 'Products' maybe.

    Nice!

These 3 sections are great, and each make their point clearly and stand out in their own way…

  • 7

    What is this?

Not sure what this is, but it sticks out like an afterthought. This whole grey area can be bigger if you need it, but if this news is important (it's on the homepage), give it space and let it sit comfy like the rest…

    keep rotating headline graphic - 1, 2, 3

keep feature from concept B where you rotate through 3 headlines as long as you are able to generate content and refresh it at least 3 times a year or based on target/average revisit trend (seasonal seems intuitive).

easy to navigate, but look + feel very corporate/heavy

Concept A gets marks for easy navigation, but feels very serious like IBM, not like Nike. Also, are you burying the order by phone on purpose? It is fine if so, but if you want orders, online or phone, put I would move this to the site's header.

Nav Menu! Is nice but make it 100% over header!

The Nav menu is okay this way, big and gray with sky blue, but it's weird this way only 3/4 of the header width...why don't you make it 100% in width? Like you did on the A version, you can try put it also above the header image!

  • 2

I like this! Don't change it

This part is very good!!! I think it will help your customers and visitors!

  • 3

    The header is amazing!

The Header image it speaks from itself, it dynamic and energetic! The orange box is very nice designed!!! You just have to find the right place of the Nav Menu!!! IT IS NOT OKAY WHERE IT IS AND HOW IT IS!!!

    I love Sliders!

Ohhh yeahh baby!!! I love sliders, they are very very practical!!!! They come in handy when are used wisely!

  • 5

This Part is very good Designed

I like how you put the information here! It's very easy to read and to "scan"...You know people scan with their eyes the content of the website, if there are nice pictures they click without reading :)!

  • 6

This Footer is also very nice!

I like the Footer zone as well, it's clean and informative!!!!

  • 7

    I like the background!!

I like clouds, they give a special feeling of the Website!!! But what's gonna happen on bigger screen resolutions? You have to find a way to expand it nicely!

  • 8

    This nice badge!

It looks okay, but at first look I thought it was the "Feedback" button like most of the websites are using now...Maybe you can come up with the original badge for the products...

hanging navigation likely to cause headaches

Like the 1-2-3 rotating graphic to feature merchandise. However, hanging your navigation on top of it is likely to cause usability problems. In addition, I am curious how you would handle this on interior pages. Does the hanging nav remain or move somewhere? Overall, this direction does feel more like Google but without a great navigation solution. The colors and layout help it feel much lighter and more dynamic.

Reasons to hide your 800 number?

Sometimes your business model dictates that you push people to buy directly online. If this is the case, then your placement is good. If, however, you want people to buy no matter what... I would recommend moving your 800 number up near the header.
