I'm going to respectfully disagree with Oliver and say that in my opinion, you're trying to do too much. It is not minimalism imo. What was this going to be coded with? Flash? CSS? Definitely ambitious, and could actually turn out to be a GREAT site worthy of being in books. But, it definitely needs more work, thought, and patience. Could work on the illustrations in the second screen shot (i.e. the mug, monitor, and desk). Good start, great idea, good reap great rewards if you see it through!

thanks ben for the feedback! it is definitely motivating and let's me know when the idea is good. i am reworking my site since i crashed my server yesterday (install beta software cautiously under Linux) and i am cleaning up some of my earlier ideas.
i'l post the 'improved' (i hope!) pages as they are finished in the future and would appreciate your input on whether or not the changes helped
