Although Poker seems straight forward enough to depict since it's so widely known, I think the challenge resides in taking the creative path that is most literal. That's what ultimately can make this logo forgettable.
I think the correction of the red Spade to black is a step in the right direction, there now can be further exploration with placing the Spade within the letter "O" (black O, spade cutout).
Cards and chips are so literal and it's visual overload. With this concept, fan the cards with the chips in their center, place the "plus" below. Does "Poker Plus" have to be written on the line?
I think there is room for at least 4-5 more strong concepts just in draft sketches to find the noticeable visual.

well I will try that idea with the spade inside of the O, but I did made a test and didn't liked it.
I am a beginner in this field "logo design", I tried some variations and this is what I came up with. I still have a lot to learn. And realy the name doesn't help a lot for creativity. All I could think of is already on the web and even the A version I did is very similar to poker stars. So if you have some ideas I would appreciate it.
thanks Kai.
