Lovely design treatment Ok. Please take no offense.
Too busy. My eyes are jumping all over the place You first need to CLEARLY answer Who you are What you do What is your mission/goal
Top area left (orange sponsor widget) This is the most important spot on page, and I think you have the cart before the horse. You need to set up World Vision first before you ask for Sponsors I think the ability to cycle profiles will not see much activity and therefore contribute more to an already busy looking widget Not sure about having 2 search fields on same page. Your going to confuse grandma Do you want me to Sponsor Now or Find Child. Which is it. The two buttons are competing. Begs the question here: What is the main call to action on page?
Top Banner area right (Blue, with two girls) Read more grabs my attention first. Is that the idea? Lose the thumbs, to busy and clutter the comp
"Make a Difference" How, what? You have Greek text in there now. I suppose you will be supporting that button with
Stories of hope. (Capitalize 'h' in hope) Make jpgs a little smaller Too much text. Shrink and add a read more to full content item.
Latest News Shrink image a little. The rest is good.
Emergencies Great rorator widget.
Light Blue band. Learn, Volunteer, etc Lose the buttons and make CTA's links. I would consider bring this stuff up higher on page and in a differ treatment.
Foot is fine
Summary Amazing design, really. My issue is that the page is waaay too crowded. To many competing calls to action, content heavy I want to see who you are, what you do, what you want 'clearly'

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your comments. I agree it lacks a certain clarity for now. Partially due to the fact that we have very little actual content to work with at the moment.
You might like to take a look at the mockup here where some little tweaks were made based on the client's feedback as well as some other ffedback from CF: http://wv.a8hosting.com/html/index.html.
