    Variation of the red

The first thing that attracted my attention (and thats an important aspect) was the navigation and the ribbon effect. Its fantastically pulled off. I like that ribbon, its very well done, so congratulations on that. (also with the other ribbons on the page)

One issue I have is the fonts, they are, well, pretty boring. Why not try mixing up the layout, adding some more content areas and playing around with different fonts. Have a look here and here for some good ideas on how to use serif and sans-serif fonts together. It can really make a difference.

Also, the background is a tad plain. Nice job on the gradient, but the gray and white is a bit boring and needs some more variation. (just being crazy here, but if you can do ribbons like that, why not try this and go all 3D)

The final point is the red. I know you have told us that you can't change the red of the logo, but what about saturation (like what was mentioned earlier in another post), red is not a colour it is a spectrum of different hues. Red + noise = amazing (if done right), why not try mixing up the reds a bit more.

    Hope this helps.

Oh and BTW: Option 2 is better, the image overlay is cleaner. Still try it with less of a curve. Final chao

It's very hard when you have restriction like I do on this design. You can easily get caged up, even more than needed. Thank you or all the great inputs. Thats what i needed. Links are good inspiration. Will see what i can mix up :)
