The star ratings are low just because there obviously isn't much to go on yet.

The design looks nice, simple and clean so far. The navigation is nice and understated and the typography in the intro is nicely thought out although maybe think about making it a tiny bit larger so the top of the type and the bottom baseline align with the top and bottom of the View Portfolio button on the right. Also look at the space around the view Portfolio button and make it a little more even.

I think whether to keep his age in will depend on the work he has to show. If the work is amazing and he can fully hold his own then leave the age out. Otherwise it may help to put it in as he will be in the market for work where people are happy to pay less for someone less experienced.
