My first thought is that you are using a very rounded font for a company called "box" which is confusing to me.
I think using just the a in a box as a mark and coming up with a typeface below it would work better than side-by-side for this. I attached a file to show this.
The other thing that came to mind was using the "box" to include the word box as well as the a. See my attached file for a (very) rough idea of what I'm talking about.

Alan Horne commented:Nice ideas, and I do like your first use of the concept, although not sure if the Box as another side would work, due to it being 3 letters.
Thanks for the feedback, its much appreciated.

Patrick Niebrzydowski commented:yeah, it does look a bit unbalanced, but i figured playing with something to give it a bit more allusion to a box instead of a straight-up box could be a good place to look. You might even be able to make it in the shape of a single box still using only the words. I think it could really add some originality to the logo, as a cube is a pretty universally used image.

Aaran Casey commented:I like Peter's idea here and think it could be reworked a bit better, like maybe having the a next to the box and then b o x being on the different sides... with the "a box creative" underneath...

Put the edge of the box and B on the same height. This will guide the viewers eye

I really like the font. However, did you try using one which has a symmetric B? It may attract more attention that way and may look more down to earth.

It may be a lot of work without a proper 3d program, but you could try making the box translucent (as one of the above readers pointed out) and make a three dimensional "a" which shines through. I think "boxes" are dangerous, because people that think in terms of boxes are not open or creative. They are closed, boxed, introverted, lost inside theirselves. Play around with that concept a bit and it might ease things up. - in combination with some other font for "box" (as mentioned in 2), you could really create something outstanding. I really love the rounded font inside the edgy box! Keep it that way :)

sorry forgot to attach the file and apparently i can't edit that...
