Nice work so far. I think the general layout is good and almost everything is in alignment. Here are a few suggestions for improvement:

    • Add a thin white stroke around the logo so that there is a little separation between the outer magenta border in the logo and the magenta box.
    • Add a thin light gray border around the main content (from the top white all the way down to the bottom of the main text, above the logos) to better define this shape and not have the white run into the left column and bottom logos area.
    • Either keep the text over the photo (not recommended) or the caption under the photos, but not both. I think the light gray background with black text as seen under the main image would look nice on the other 2 images.
    • If you are not going to wrap the logos above the footer in a container, they need to be better aligned with the rest of the page elements. I'd also recommend making them smaller. They are dominating the lower portion of the page. -Lastly, add a secondary color to help break up the large amount of magenta you have in the design.

      Hi Andy

Thanks for your feedback. That's a lot and I'll try to change those things in the next round. Concerning your comment

      • I checked the logo and it indeed has a white stroke around in print. So, I'll add that
      • Will try your suggestion regarding the border. However, didn't want to have too much "decoration" in the first place
      • What do you mean with caption under the photos. The grey text above the image is intended as the headline. There might not always be an image in an article.
      • I'm not sure about the secondary color, I'll try one darker and one lighter.

Hey Michael - In regards to the caption under the photo, I was trying to say that the main image has text over the photo and a caption under it - it's too much text. I'd recommend sticking to the caption only and remove the text. Then, do the same for the 2 smaller images (remove the text from over the photo and include a small gray box under each with the caption). Hope that helps.

Ah, now I understand. I was playing around with that white text for quite some time and honestly, the readability isn't that high. Thanks for clarification. -Michael
