Honestly in this you should ask yourself why someone would ask you a web work looking at this. There's nothing creative, nothing showing your skills. And it look a lot as a "standard" blog. It will be ok as a personal blog of a guy writing his personal things but not for something involving a professional work.
I hope you will have at least a nice portfolio with amazing website because it will be the only chance for you to catch a work in such a way.
Sorry I had to be honest. Take a look to other blog, even choose a theme and work on it to change a bit, but I don't think you will go anywere with this one.

thanks for the honesty. This is really not going to be my "pick up clients" site, but I imagine that clients may possibly wander here, and I want it to withstand scrutiny. It really is just a blog, but I suppose I need to make it more unique.
