    Daniel

This is a great idea, however the design of the site is letting it down. Don't get me wrong I like it clean lines and structure, however I find that I was not at all drawn to search around the site.

I think the Logo, and colors need a bit of work, and the girl... I have no idea what she is doing there...

Typography seems to be a bit out of balance, and I know that you need adverts to make a site like this work, but they just look ugly positioned in the header. You follow us icons, like Chris mentioned, we all know the icons, so drop the text.

I think this could be an awesomely fun site, but at the moment the blue's and the plainess of the site is holding it back...

    Keep going and Good Luck!

Thank you for your honest feedback.. it's made me realise that I've lost my focus. The original version of this site was a lot more basic (http://independentstudy.theice.co.uk/unknowntales.net/), so when I did this redesign, I wanted it to stand out more...

I think I need to go back to the drawing board with this, it's obvious that I have a lot more work to do.

Don't go changing the site based on one review. See what others think of it. I agree to an extent with what the user has said, but use the feedback to move forward, not to start a complete redesign. God is in the details.

Yes I totally agree with Cos's comment. All you need to do is tweak the design, maybe look at the colors and the logo...

OK, I've made some of the changes suggested. I've removed the girl, removed the advertising at the top of the page, and changed the follow us icons.

I'm thinking that I could use some of the space on the right, above the follow us icons, to list the genres available, hopefully providing a focus point and encouraging people to investigate.

As for the colours, does anyone have any specific suggestions? I'm not very good with colour - being colour-blind doesn't help.
