It is a good looking design and I think most customers and designers would be happy to put this out into the world. But it sounds like you are looking to make great design. So let's revisit a very basic concept and see how it plays out. User comes to the site 1)What are they looking for? 2)Is it the first thing they see? 3) What do we want them to do? 4) Is it something they would expect?
Just from looking at the site design I can answer those questions, but I believe one important user expectation is missing.Here are my assumptions on why a user would be on the website 1) to look at menu items 2)Hours, reservations 3)Catering or special function usage.
You've given the user 2 of the three on the first page, however the overall emphasis is on the ambiance and looks more like the design for an interior design studio than a restaurant. Where as I would expect the food to be more vital in the overall user experience in the restaurant proper.
