Here are some concrete ways that I think you can improve your theme. 1) The main links in the left side navigation bar, 'confcentral', 'features', 'sign up', 'login' and 'faq' might look better if they were left aligned. Everything else on the site is left aligned so it would make the design more cohesive. 2) Rather than the couch image I would look for images that contain the following: people sitting around a conference table, telephones, conferencing technology, headphones, etc. Images with people will at least make the site more pleasant to look at. In doing a quick web search on 'conferencing' I got some ideas for imagery. 3) It looks like the site's mission statement or purpose is the 'unlimited conferencing anywhere, anytime' text. I think you could make this larger and more prominent. If you do that then you could add a slightly smaller and different colored font beneath that with some of the text from the first paragraph under the 'Welcome' title. Essentially call out the services of the site in the header image. 4) Lastly I'm not sure how much flexibility you have to change the code but if you can futz with the markup language and possibly make the site wider that would make it seem more modern I think. Since you are using a free theme you may be limited in what you can do to change it on your side, however little by little you can improve on it. I hope this helps you.
