I like the header and footer treatments; very clean and straightforward.
However, I find my eyes aren't following the header text very well (i.e. "we handcraft clean & usable..."). My eyes dart around to the higher font sized elements, and have to go back to re-read the full sentence, which appears broken up too much to me. I'd want instead to see perhaps a slightly more linear approach to that text, with maybe not as heavy a hand on the keywords you're calling out (e.g. "handcraft, web solutions, needs")...In terms of color of those keywords, I like the 2nd option, as it reinforces your brand.
Additionally, I'd like to see a bit more harmony in the layout of the text blocks at the bottom of the page; for example, simply bottom aligning both boxes may help here.
