    Hey Rachel,

As a whole it's quite OK. I also like most of the pictures.

Although it's a classy design and some reviewers call it blocky it's still OK. Some of us like blocky and classic :D, it's not in your described objectives tough. So ... no modern here ...

    1. As another reviewer pointed it out the colors are quite blunt, I like the blue and the orange, you should brighten them up a bit.

    2. Try also to avoid standard placing of text and images if you want to give it a modern look. Also use some background, some grind or whatever you like to make it more new more shiny, more dynamic. This adds to the modern look.

PS: I still like it :)

Not modern shame… actually very modern for us. We are still fighting the tide of comic sans use among our staff created posters.

I can't alter the main dark blue as it's part of our branding, but will look at the others which are tints and the orange can be changed/brightened.

I like the idea of changing the standard placing of text to make it more modern, will try that. Not sure about the background, just having coloured and bleed is more than normal, I usually stick to white.
