    Navigation Hover

Wow this design is just so fabulous and very resolved.

There are a few things in usability that I would tweak.

Navigation - When you hover over the word and the fabric piece shows up I think you should make that whole area clickable (and change the text colour on hover) because it takes an extra step to actually click the word.

Main Photo Slider - Clean up the left edge of that arrow. It looks pixelated and the white stands out too much.

Visit the Cure Store - I would add a colourized hover on that to make it more exciting and match the theme of other elements changing on hover.

    Nice work!!

You brought up a good point about the tabs - I actually have my anchor element for #nav li.mainNavItem a:link set to "display:block", and a matching height and width defined, so I'm not sure why the whole tab is not clickable. Any suggestions?

nm - I found the culprit on that. A style for the subnav with !important telling it to display:inline.

Much better. But there's a big issue I didn't see before. I didn't realize I had to click on that arrow to see a drop down menu. The first time I hovered on the button I assumed that it was just decoration.

If other people don't realize it, no one will be using your drop down selections. I would rethink that arrangement. Perhaps make it open automatically on hover and place the arrow on your "up" state so it indicates that your users will expect a drop down menu to occur.

I think the actual drop down menu is interesting with the picture in there. I'm having a hard time deciding if its too much or just different :) Kudos for trying something original though - I've never seen it before!

Hmm...that's a very good point. I'll work with that some more.

Thanks for the kudos, not 100% original though. I saw that invisible children's site had that and we really liked it. We are also developing a sponsorship model for our patients, so eventually the idea of that was on the "Sponsor" tab we are going to have just 3 or 4 images of kids you can sponsor that will drop down.
