There are newer, more exciting font choices that would also be easy to read. Arial is overused, and maybe if you present a new font, they'll like it and say "yes" ...the worst that could be said is "no" but at least you'll have tried.. Its important to try and push for things, even if its difficult. i don't really understand what tudor style is, when regarding graphic design, i looked it up and found mostly information about architecture, and being in the english era of king henry vii to elizabeth i. which does relate to two of the talks. but i don't know that adding the lines helps the design. the space seems a little crowded, the text in the "all the rage section is sparce, and the rest too plentiful. maybe you could find a way to give the talk only the amount of room it needs, instead of equally dividing the space and then squishing the info for tudors and allington castle.. also, the image of the fashion talk.. might be good to keep her right hand! seems that you're doing the best you can with the pre-detirmined restraints, but keep pushing it, you'll get there! talk them into trying new things!

Unfortunately as the person who has to enforce our branding, breaking the rules is not an option.
Maybe I should have said a style reminicent of tudor architecture :)
Actually the walk image I believe is a tudor style house in the village and the image on the cover is actually the scout speaker's scarf toggle, so I feel justified in having a tudor theme.
I am hoping to get a flapper image from the speaker, so should solve the hand problem.
