I like where you are taking this. Here are a few ideas:

1. Work on your logo. I would just use "Filmtastic" with the web address below it.
2. Use a more abstract image for the background
3. Lose the ticket in the right hand corner for something less literal
4. Extend the sidebar all the way to the bottom
5. Give your buttons more padding and shrink the text in them

Great work here so far, keep it up!
