OK, so not sure if I really like this better than your current site. Your current site is nice, especially the three steps.
The consistent use of color on the new page is nice, but it also feels a lot more plain. That can work, I think, but when you have inturuptive advertising (banner ads), it might be hard to compete with the color and design in the ads with such a minimalist design. I guess that same reasoning could work to your advantage too, thinking that your design distinguishes the ads more from the content...so it's a toss up.
One thing I'll just say here is that the web is moving away from traditional advertising supported business models and toward web applications that are self-supportive in their own business model - except with sites that publish primarily free content, but again - I think you're going to see that change more and more over time. So just a thought and I know your probably not looking for feedback on your business model here but I'm giving it anyway - you might want to consider a business model that uses free, and a variety of paid for versions of your content/service.
Back to the design...what I DO love in your new design is how you've used a single color to distinguish links. Very smart.
