This layout suggests Africa by its colors and typestyle before you even have the chance to read the word "Africa." That's good design. However, I do have a few suggestions. A) Make sure you credit your sources on the quotes. I know this is a mock up and these may not be the quotes you end up with, but don't forget to give credit to the speaker. (Text without conext is pretext!) B) the navigation bar that flies down when you hit "About" would normally be considered a bit cumbersome but it is new and different and you get big points for that on the web. I say leave it in. My father is a missionary and he does a lot of work in Africa. He is in the Ukraine right now, but I can hear his voice saying "Play down the 'Donate' button. " Everyone knows that missions need money; its a given. What you need to do is convince people that God is working in Africa through this mission; that's what people want to donate to, they want to be a part of what God is doing, the mission is simply a conduit. One final point, you mention that this is an NGO. Make sure you understand the restrictions NGO's place on religious efforts. You must assume that the Kenyan government will be looking at this site and a conflict with their regs could spell disaster for the ministry.
