I really like your first concept and love the idea of making the "S" form a lock. I think you need to make it look more like a lock. At first I wasn't sure what it was. I would also add some sort of tagline to tell what the company does. The cross on the m in "company" isn't needed. Though I love the first concept, I'm not sure I get history out of it. It looks like a very new and contemporary logo. I would try and add some history in it. Or maybe you can do that with the tagline, "Helping with your lock needs since 1930"...Just a thought, good work.
