I'm all for thinking outside the box but I'm thinking this one needs to look and behave more like a normal website. I would concentrate your design on usability instead of trying to think of something outside the norm. Try and think of a few different concepts and see what you come up with. I'm not sure this is the one.
Look through some of these other postings that are getting higher ratings. My guess is you're starting out as a designer (we've all been there). Right now, find a few sites you like and try to mimic some of the different elements throughout the site.
This one's just too dark, icons are typical with the glass effect and the flow of this site if the client wants to "add this here, and this there" won't work too well. You're limiting yourself to a small area in the center of the site.
Very little branding, looks like a template.
Less artsy, more function. It's a professional service, this doesn't speak enough for the company.
I'd say redesign. Play with it more. This could be tweaked for a future purpose though, save it to recycle it later (or play with it to perfect it).
Hey Matt,
It seems there are a few of us that don't think this is a very good approach.
There's no branding, no logo, no page elements. it's ok to be original, but retain some basic elements.
I would try again.
Cheers, Z.
The idea behind this concept is pretty good. I am a sucker for a semi-transparent png, but I dont think this works for a taxi company. To be honest with you, I wouldn't have known this was for a taxi company except for the "taxiCars" at the top. The background honestly feels more like a tech company than a taxi company. I would incorporate an actual car somewhere on the page. Also the icon aren't working for me. I normally like large icon, but these are just too plain to be that large. Find some snazzy icons. Check out www.iconfinder.net , they have some really good FREE icons. But like I said earlier I love me some transparent PNG's, so good work there.
