This I love it's fresh and clean, and just has oomph! Note really sure about the site look though…

might I suggest that you look at making it less graf style and more grid like for lack of a better term...

http://www.whybintbwa.co.nz - have a look at this site I believe this style would work better specially with some of your clients bead images at say 50% in the background.

    Good work overall

Thanks for the feedback Aaran. I may do a few more mockups for the website to show her but she loves the current concept with it's scattered feel.

I agree that the example you provide would look great. Thanks!!

Just a thought but maybe the 9 could be the g for glass, that may help it tie in a bit more

    glass not sitting well

Posted on Sep 24, 2009 at 6:01 AM

the J and 9 are working well, although would love to see a lower 9 (higher J) for comparison. The glass just is not sitting well, perhaps it needs its own box as the variance in font size is uncomfortable.

Thanks Angela! I'll definitely try a lower 9/higher J combo, especially since the logo needs to work without the work glass for smaller implementation.

be carefull this beautiful art isn't seen as gothic

Posted on Sep 24, 2009 at 8:38 AM

The dark T-shirt and the paint drops coming from above on the home page image might be seen as "the dark side" and "gothic". I had this idea anyway. Try to get some inspiration also from the old days of the "J-class" in sailing too. Might work... Keep up the good work,

Thanks Stijn! I've been thinking about making the background of the website a bit more subtle to really make the beads stand out more. I'll also try a mockup of the tshirt on a lighter colored shirt.

    Try a sans-serif font.

Posted on Sep 24, 2009 at 9:06 AM

While the serifs look interesting, I don't normally associate serif fonts with "grungy" and "abstract," as a rule.

Try experimenting with a few sans-serif fonts, particularly those with a more edgy or "broken" look to them.

Thanks Ben. For the logo I tried to go more with the fun and professional side rather than grungy and abstract. I figured I could save those for the peripherals and keep the logo as clean as possible.

    Good work

I like everything very much. The weakest point I think is your letter head design. It doesn't scream creative glass making company to me. I think you should revisit that design and see if you can liven it up any.

I do love the tshirt design. I'm wondering if you could incorporate more of a grunge theme to the rest of the branding. Just some thoughts, good work!

Thanks Nate! I'll definitely give the letterhead more thought as well as ways to incorporate more grunge all around.

    Probably Too Simple For Some...

Posted on Sep 24, 2009 at 12:14 PM

However I like simple and minimalistic style designs. So good job. The only thing that is not great out of all the posted image examples of your logo in practical use is the 3rd and last image.

The 3rd image I take is a flyer and the last is the website for the business owner, I would make the flyer more colourful in better in touch with the business card theme and the website could be less all over the place, and still bring across that artistic feel well.

Thanks Oliver! The third image is a bio sheet (kind of her artists resume of sorts) so it needs to be able to be easily printed in black & white as well as photocopied well. That's why I wanted to maintain as much simplicity there as possible.

I'll definitely do a bit more tweaking to the website and bring things in a bit tighter. She really likes the scattered feel of it but I agree that it could be a bit tighter.

perhaps reduce a little the word glass to align with the 9th, will be more enjoyable

Thanks Fabio! I've been thinking that the kerning on glass could use some work so I'll definitely be tweaking that.
