    clean up past compliments page

Posted on Sep 17, 2009 at 2:30 PM

the listing of past compliments seems heavy compared to all the white space on the rest of the site.

Maybe lighten that gradient or loose it completely and try a different solution.

Love the concept and hope it works out well for you.

    Past Compliments Page

Posted on Sep 18, 2009 at 1:02 PM

Front Page - Great idea and design! I woldn't change a thing.

I agree with Clayton on the other page... it's not easily scannable. Perhaps choose either a top-down or left-right reading style. I'm not sure where to look.

Also based on your homepage, does a gradient really work in this design?

    Simplify

I love the idea behind this site. I just read a news story about 2 college students giving out free compliments once a week.

I like that main/today's compliment takes the whole focus of the site, and that the website title is just in the corner. I'd remove the "Submit compliment" bar from the top right corner since it is already 1 of the 3 bottom bars. For the top rated/ past 10 days/ most shared... I think there could be a more imaginative way to have this informative and still keep up a clean design. What about something similar to subject clouds, except it is the compliment? I like it. Good luck.

Great Idea, social marketing and advertisement at it's best. Hope it all works out in the end.

    Strip down the compliments page

Posted on Sep 21, 2009 at 11:42 AM

Definitely agree with the other reviewers that the compliments page doesn't quite fit the great entry page. Lighter gradient might work. You could probably remove "tweet it" and "facebook it", just leaving the logos to clean it up. Most users of a site like this will understand what they are. As they stand, they overpower the actual compliments which should be the only standout feature.

Thanks for the great feedback elena, you've helped me solve enough problem about being able to increase the length of the compliments as well. When i get it tweaked I'll re-post it

The gradient is kind of hmm.., I don't knowish, but I like the concept of the site. Clean and clear.
