    san-serif

the clean lines of the mark would look better with a san-serif type for the logotype.

But I like the simple understated feel.

    No Church Feel

It's a nice logo. Clean, simple, and flexible... But I don't see the connection to a church with the circle / four squares graphic.

    Not feeling the cross

    PROS: Simplitity, font, color combos

CONS:Lacks Christian symbology (not really a cross, but a plus sign).

reveal the cross a bit more

Posted on Sep 17, 2009 at 8:25 PM

I reviewed the first version of this logo and this is definitely a bit step in the right direction. Is there a meaning to the 4 quadrants? I understand they help reveal the cross but would be interesting if each quadrant had a significance- Me, My Church, God, My family... Perhaps create some space for the cross to reveal a bit more. Just one more thought on use of black background. Is this a realistic version of how this logo will be represented? More likely to be on white background, you will see the logo will loose a lot of impact.

the background used is the one on the website. I'll see if I can modify it to make it look more like a cross.

    A transformative element

Posted on Sep 19, 2009 at 6:27 PM

I like the logo, it looks clean and simple. Typeface works, and the circle reminds me of both stained glass windows and a cross. I think this could go from good to great if you just add an element of surprise or transformation. It's a little to standard for the subject. You can change the perception ppl have of church by making the logo more interesting, and suggest the value of the church.

    The symbol.

Why have you used 'that' symbol? I think you should consider a better concept unless there is history to with that Redeemer Church.

i guess why I used what symbol was because:

      • they were going in the direction of a solid/firm looking logo
      • has a cross in it
      • also, for me this has been one of my hardest company to design a logo for. I really have been going brain dead on ideas.
