Im not keen on the logo, the blue on it is a little harsh on the eyes.
The site is fairly basic, but im assuming clean was a request of the client.
All looks good though.
Maybe a little text on the site, would be good for SEO and also help customers a little too.
Im not sure on the logo myself, but maybe create a small Apple App icon and stick it next to the text. Although thats maybe a little generic.
Or even something with a smile in it, do to the 'We Like', as thats what people do when they like stuff.
Just a couple of suggestions though. :P
Is the idea that people will tag and track things they like, and then they'll see some list to the effect, "other people who like [x] also like... [item 1] [item 2] [item 3]..."?
The "We" bothers me for some reason. I think "PeopleLike" or "WhatiLike" might be less confusing. If the "we" referred to a panel of recognized experts or something, then maybe it would be more appropriate.
The website itself is clean (almost too clean). Consider adding a brief description of what each iPhone app is for. The app names and icons are pretty good and get the user halfway there, but you could make things crystal clear by adding just a little supplemental text describing when someone would use each app. Perhaps you could display these descriptions when a user mouses over each app icon to preserve your clean design.
For the logo, I'd play around with the idea of incorporating a group of people in the background to reinforce the idea that there's a community of people for the user to identify with. Or maybe play on the word "Like" by bending it into a smiling shape. Or.... since the star rating paradigm is internationally recognized, maybe you could incorporate 5 gold stars into the design like "WeLike *"
Thanks Scott. I will take your suggestions under consideration. I most definitely agree with you about the iPhone descriptions! Any ideas on how they might be placed and visually set to look good?
Hi Kevin!
I Love how the pics brighten when scrolled over.
If this were mine I would consider trying a few things to tweak it up a bit, which include:
Bringing the "K" closer to the "i" in "like" and to tuck in the "e" just a sliver to the "k"... in the logo.
The LLC bothers me a tad. Maybe because it feels like a third color? maybe a brighter white to match "We"? I think it may still read right since the LLC is a much smaller type.
The wording gets me a bit with "stinkd" "mused" "quenchd" Mainly due to the fact that "Mused" has an "ed" ending, which out of wanting consistency between words, it draws my attention to the fact that the "e" is missing in "quenched" ect.
So maybe:
Stink, muse, quench?
or
stunk, mused, quenched ?
or
Stinks, muses, quenches?
Overall, clear and fun... just as you wanted.
:0)
The whole website looks DULL. Thats may be because you have used transparent images.
Please change the LOGO. A. Make it smaller B. You can use a gradient C. Change the blue color to web 2.0
Thanks Ananda!
The images have some opacity set so that when you highlight over them, they light up. Is this what you might have been referring to? Do you feel that should change?
The logo does need to change. It's just a temporary "stand in" at the moment, but the actual logo is still under development. Do you have any suggestions on what it should look like?
Yes the colours used are iPhone generic although many of the other colours used like, for example, in the title, these are, I would say, dull pastal colours.
It just doesnt feel like I would want to remain on this site for very long, doesnt feel inviting at the moment.
Thanks for your feedback Stewart. Can you tell me more about what colors you might feel more comfortable with?
What are the types of things that would encourage you to come back to this site? What might make it more inviting?
Great points about the logo. An official logo is still in the design stages, so this text is somewhat of a placeholder. Do you have any suggestions on what a good combination of iconography and colors might be for this logotype?
Clean was certainly a priority. I find it difficult to keep things clean, but still provide some "meat" or hook.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll work on implementing some more copy and navigation.
