    Kerning of InterActive

Posted on Sep 01, 2009 at 5:55 PM

    Hey Zac,

I don't share the same opinion with the others ... happens to me all the time.

    1. I think squared or round is a matter of perspective, some like square, some like round.

    2. I for one consider the first logo to be cool. Why? Because it stands out. It's big, it inspires big and business, professionalism (Think of the IBM logo, 2Advanced, etc.). It should be used in BIG size on materials ... it has quite an impact. It also looks good on a background (second picture). Design is not only about creativity, but also about perfection. Perfection can also generate engagement and emotion.

    3. I would try to mess with the kerning so that the InterActive part is grid-aligned to the ENT part. Right now it starts from the outside of the E and stops at the inside of the N.

    4. The copyright sign should be placed outside the logo, you can try messing around with it.

    5. The 181920 is just a bunch of numbers. Don't know how you're gonna capitalize on that. ;)

    That's it :)

Glad I could help out Zac. Thing is Concept Feedback is a great tool to learn and help out, but you should take reviews with a grain of salt. In the end you decide what makes a great concept and what feedback you implement.

      Cheers, Z.

PS: The name is my real name ... everybody thinks it's a nick name but it's not :). It's greek or smth.

    ENT

    Hey Man

I like it, it's punchy and in ya face... maybe just incorporate the 181920 in cut out along the bottom of the reversed E, that way you are able ensure that there isn't any mis-understanding on the name.

I would also drop the 'e' off the end of 'interactive' it will make people stop and look, and ask more questions... that's always a good thing...

Thats a fresh idea, and a solution to the potential confusion too, nice! I'll give it a go.

Fade the dot and move it away.

Posted on Aug 31, 2009 at 10:58 PM

I would definitely...no doubt about it...choose the first Logo. The only thing that bothers me is the little dot...copyright symbol? I suggest to get that out of there. if it must push it to the right side of the imaginary white block and fade it.

I like the "Interactive" where it is. Just maybe fool with the "A" so it repeats that white space triangle created above it. ( a straight down left side of the A and a long right side) ; then in a sense the word interactive is being interactive with the ENT

I'm putting your logo on my favorites list. All it needs is a little tweak. None the less I Love the white shapes the white space creates in your logo.

If you find the copyright symbol still doesn't look right ...why not add it after "interactive" rather than the upper ENT? That would really open up that whole side...

    Too squared

Posted on Aug 31, 2009 at 11:10 PM

It is simple but too squared... I would add some curves to it.

    Or maybe add some color.

    E N T not working, stick with 18 19 20

Posted on Aug 31, 2009 at 11:47 PM

the ENT name is way too cryptic and lacks emotion, I see no issue with the logo design, I would invest in the 18 19 20 name. One your logo no longer reflects the full name you effectively lose it. Your current logo iteration is clear but a little unimaginative for a creative business. I would play with the numbers more.

Ive just added a proposed use for it, the surroundings/designs that its used in are what i expect would complement the simplistic look. This is what i am trying achieve overall. It would be placed on the bottom of a clients site, not to distract but to be instantly recognisable, and understated.

    rework top (first) logo

Posted on Sep 01, 2009 at 7:14 AM

i'm not sold on the top logo either, and the numerical one is cool on paper, screen, etc. where it is to be read, but what if someone wants to say it? (as in they are telling others via 'word of mouth' about your site, etc) personally, i can't remember my own phone number (seriously)

but the center one is quite nice

Thats the exact dilemma i have, and the main reason for switching to ENT.

Before this, the exact reason we chose 181920 was the cool factor.

So im stuck... do i change name altogether?

    I like the ENT but

Posted on Sep 01, 2009 at 10:02 AM

I really enjoy the clean and simple ENT lettering. The problem is the interactive part. Try reducing the size of the interactive part, us a single font weight and maybe use some lettering stylization on the E's .

    Almost there.
