    The focus

Posted on Aug 25, 2009 at 11:43 PM

I know nothing about sports, but it seems like the interest in the multi-armed figure would be greater without the transparent portrait in the back. Interesting concept, though!

I was thinking that too. Funny part is I don't even do sports myself lol.

i dont get the buddha thing

Posted on Aug 26, 2009 at 12:57 AM

Visual is great, but why does he need to have his back to us? If he is facing us then dont need the 2nd image. Also I dont get the buddha thing?

Those were the images I gotten. Well the back turned one had only 2 arms. I put the other two there.

For the Buddha thing it was the only worship like figure with more than just 2 arms. But I think I will make him his own God & kill the Buddha title.

      Might go with NBA Vishnu

Thanx everyone for the feedback. I have a clients site to work on, because I finally figured out the layout a bit, so it will be sometime, before I touch this again. I will keep you all up-to-date thoa.

    buddha

Posted on Aug 26, 2009 at 11:39 AM

ok, i like this, but the one and only thing that screams out to me (personally) is that it's called 'nba buddha', which is ok, but the multi-armed man instantly (since now my mind has been turned to religious figures) makes me think of the Hindu god/goddess with six arms. buddha only had two arms. this would drive me nuts if it were mine, but my brain is whacked and no one else may give it a second thought.....so don't place too much stock in my opinion.....but it is a good design.

hope this helps- if not, just forget you read it!

    good luck!

You are right Travis, Buddha and the arms are a mis-match, but maybe I missing something, I like basketball, but am not up on it at all. There is also a King James reference in here too.

I agree with Felipe that the arms need to be swapped, but other then that some better and more intriguing typography for the header and its ALL GOOD!

    Bottom left arm.

Posted on Aug 29, 2009 at 7:59 PM

The bottom left arm looks weird.

The typeface also needs some work. Make it more dynamic. :)

    Everything else looks great!

truthfully, the arrangement of the pieces parts.

Posted on Sep 01, 2009 at 9:43 AM

From a design standpoint, although some of the tangents are attractive, as a whole things seem a bit disjointed. Concept is solid, but the execution needs a bit of tweaking.

For one, I'd center the 'Buddha-James' image. Perhaps even position the camera lower in the shot to allow for a larger blow-up, and even greater larger-than-life POV

I'm not at all 'getting' the lettering/whatever to the left in red. I'd nix it entirely.

With LeBron's face being so recognizable now, I'd enlarge that to entirely fill the frame, in the same ghosted-back technique.

And lastly, I would center the "NBA BUDDHA" text/headline, just above his head. I'd also do it on one line, and at least one-half, if not one-third as large.

    Let's see more.
