Perhaps take some of the detail out of the wheel's center so it scales better for things like a gravatar or favicon. But this could scale well enough... or you could make a second, basic version for small logo instances. Overall very good, very classy and trustworthy logo!
I agree with Angela. I think it needs to stand out more in a crowd of logos. Try putting the compass behind the word compass and having it burst out from behind the words. You can use a two tone color scheme, blue and silver maybe to show wisdom, trustworthy, and intuitive.
i think is a very good logo. im not sure about the font of WHEEL, i would experminet with some other more, the rest is really good tho. are the other 2 wheels in the corner necessary ? ithink with the main logo u have more than enough. great work
Thanks for the review. The two wheels on the corner are just to show the scalability of the icon, as I understand that people may think it may be unscalable at smaller sizes.
It is very nice, the COMPASS font is spot on, but wheel could use something diferent, also you might consider going a little simpler with the compass image, it seems a bit busy inside the inner circle. although I like it anyway, I would just be interested to see it in a simpler format.
Thanks. I've been trying to find the right font for WHEEL too...but having trouble. What would you suggest I use, a sans serif or serif font?
while I appreciate your intent is to create sophistication, ultimately a consulting company must be more than smart they need to be interesting to work with. The logo signals sophisticated, traditional and dull. How about some colour? An accent colour like purple which would be totally unexpected??
I think this is nice.
The only tweak I maybe would do is to bring that H a bit closer to the W. I think the W may be one of those funky letters that you need to kern to a bit?
Thank you! I fixed the kerning a bit. As for color variation...I need to think of a good color scheme first.
I like how it can work in 1 color and is fairly scalable. It's also nice when a logo can handle a horizontal layout, which I can picture yours doing, with the text to the right of the wheel. If anything, I would just experiment with simpler wheel designs, as it starts to remind me of a crosshair or spiderweb at the smaller size.
Thank you for your feedback! I've already simplified the wheel once already. I might try to make even simpler.
I think this is a great logo design. My only complaint is the name of the company, actually--seems redundant. But you've handled it very well! It's nice to see a good, solid logo.
Love the typography. logo is smart...
Only comment is the inside spikes. As a compass it works but as a wheel it look like they would hurt grabbing. It's nitpicky but it gives me the minor shivers which is never a good emotion.
Haha..never actually thought of it that way. Thanks for your feedback!
I struggle with logo design concepts so when I see one that is cool I relly appreciate it. And I love this one.
Your design is good but i cant see compass here. May be you must use different long.
I agree with John. It doesn't look like a compass to me. It looks more like a ship's helm.
I love the typography.
Thanks for your feedback.
I tried to go for a more olden compass look, such as the one below. http://www.leehansen.com/clipart/Themes/Pirates/images/compass-rose.gif Keeping that in mind, there also had to be a "wheel" sort of feel to it. That's why my design looks as it is. At the same time, I didn't want to make it look exactly like a real compass. I wanted it to have its own unique feel.
;)
This logo is imo wonderful, as already said just try out some other fonts, I don't really like the 's' in this one.
The blue and white combi is an must have. keep it up!
This logo design is very very good work! I like this icon and font...
Wheel font should be the same as "COMPASS" and I think the wheel itself is to much complicated
I think its simple and elegant. I like the use of the different font for 'wheel' I think it adds a nice touch
I love it, I don't think it needs to be simplified, as the company is after something that looks sophisticated. The wheel visually matches the typeface of "Compass" with the contrast between the thick and thin. I also love the custom(?) 'S's. Great job. Nice colours too.
nuff said.
Very nice! I love the white on blue one
only complaint I might have is that is might not look good at small sizes. however, good combination of fonts. I really like this one!
I think the word wheel needs to move down ever-so-slightly... but I love it.
It's a clean, nice design. The idea of merging the compass with a 'ship' wheel is simple but it works.
I really don't like the idea of a picture of a compass and then the word "compass". Too literal unless the name of the company is "compass wheel". I know its cliche but maybe the "o" in compass can be the picture?
Thanks for the feedback. The name of the company is "compass wheel".
i like the logo, but inline with other's comments, something about the typography should get tweaked. overall, great job.
I agree with Felipe. I like the COMPASS typo, and the logo itself. Try to play around with WHEEL typo and kerning.
Great job!
