Yes, very good (except the blue logotype, I'd rather use that bright-brown form the footer)
Indeed. Very clear and simple, good typo. However the slide bar navigation arrows are covering the content (which is annoying).
Hmmm not much, keep it simple as it is.
I'd recommend to do something about the menu. It's a bit small and gaining low-attention.
Good job! Best luck!
Hi
The design looks pretty clean to me. Indeed:
1) Colors look good 2)The portfolio slideshow is a good way to directly present your work, and the rest of the page is pretty clear. 3) Maybe the only concern that i might raise, is that the bottom banner height seems a bit too big to me: it locks the main content between 2 black zones and it loads the page content, with its social media/legal/contact divs, which might be a bit too much. Why not use a pop up contact form and shorten the legal part in order to reduce the content and height of this banner? Anyway the overall design is great. Good luck
About this...I'll try to make the footer only about 30-40px tall, I'll make the legal stuff just: "Copyright 2009 All Rights Reserved", make the social media icons smaller and use a popup contact form...might take me awhile but I'll post it when its done.
on further thought..and after a couple hours of trying to get it to look nice...I think I'll keep the footer the way it is.
I have to say that I don't like how the dark and light sections of the site mesh. Is it a light, open, "breath of fresh air" site? Or is it a dark, stylish, cozy site? feels to me like you need to decide on one. It looks like there is attention to detail and is done well, I just feel the two styles are in conflict.
This is one problem that I have been trying to fix. Do you know any color that would look good for the header background. I tried some different variations but none have looked good. I would like to keep the theme like a "breath of fresh air", as you said instead of "dark and stylish." Either way if you can come up with some good color combinations, I'd be happy to try them.
Actually though...the two colors (brown and blue) are actually close to being complementary. (look it up in kuler. use the blue color as the base.)
I don't think that the colors themselves are bad together, just that the site seems pulled in two directions. Don't get me wrong, I like the site a lot. I just think it might feel more cohesive if you went for one main idea (light or dark) and used the other more sparsely.
I really like this kind of design... simple and effective. All the information is there in the first view of it! Very good... I loooooved it! :)
maybe larger header? i'm very visually oriented, and so are many other insane people like me. don;t forget about us, man!
My own thoughts The logo doesn't stand out enough compared to the rest of the site. The type weight is just not helping it. Better contrast or some treatment in the color or texture would help.
The navigation buttons blend in too much to the background and are not immediately apparent.
Base on your URL, the left/right buttons for the main banner is lost at the bottom left, and over designed. What you've got currently in the screenshot is much better.
Also from your URL, the interaction under My Clients are a little overkill. One moving object in the banner is enough for the home page.
Under What I Do, the spacing spacing between the first content block to the next is inadequate. It looks like the 2 headings and 2 text blocks are distributed vertically. The icons should be smaller and placed on the left of the headings, allowing the text block to fall the full width beneath the heading and icon. Your current layout creates an additional visual column that doesn't sit well with the 3 columns.
I'll see what dark gray instead of brown looks like. However, I do like the color of blue I use.
About the logo...its not a real one...I just wrote some text in an image so I could just have something to play around with...
I agree with you about the nav..its still a work in progress.
I'll try to fix the "What I do" column.
Thanks for the feedback...it was very helpful!
check out the site now...I fixed the slideshow(switched from jCarousel to jquery Flow,) and made the nav bigger.
