    version a

Posted on Aug 19, 2009 at 8:10 AM

Go with version A, but do a subtle left alignment between the ascender of "d" and the left side of "m" above it.

Version B is too "straight", too "business".

Version C is also good, but A is better.

    concept a

Posted on Aug 19, 2009 at 7:45 AM

I'd go with concept A. The rounded letters are nice on that concept. I don't think you need the .com like in concept b.

Also I'm really digging the subtle relation to the cross hairs that you have going as your icon.

    Great design!

Decide first is the name MV or mediavidia?

Posted on Aug 26, 2009 at 4:17 PM

is it the logo or the design in question? Is the Name MV or is it Mediavida?

From that I think you have to decide is the visual representation an acronym or a word? Acronyms for companies for me are meaningless.

Have you thought about using the word Mediavida and then a tag line/positioning statement underneath?

Maybe play around with the word with more integration of the circular image. An example could be placing the Circular image to the right so the center encompasses the vida. I think reading the word first from left to right with visual image afterwords a stronger proposition.

Go with A. I also like C but I'd say A is better. I kinda like the word BETA there so... I wouldn't take it off.

A is better, except for the word Beta. I am not sure why do you want to write that word.

I am also not very supportive of orange color unless you have some specific reason.

    Concept C

Posted on Oct 06, 2009 at 9:11 PM

I like concept C. I like that it does not look boxed in. I looks like it is coming into the box. I think that the first two look like they a have a boarder around them. Also C is closer to the "golden mean"...thank you art school! lol

I like concept A because of rounded letters. Good Work . . .

Concept C is also nice as it is in one straight line.

    mix ideas a and c..

Posted on Aug 19, 2009 at 8:56 AM

i think the thicker font you have "mediavida"written on version a is perfect, but i like the way you line it up in version c.. i guess my main problem with version a is the abbreviation mv on top. i think it would be better without it. the mv works well in places where it needs to be abbreviated, like your favicon, which you already have in place and looks great! so my vote is for version a minus the mv, and without the mv, the symbol may need to move somewhere more comfortable. good job on this, i love the orange

    Agree, concept A is cool

Posted on Aug 19, 2009 at 8:56 AM

    Hey Ivan,

Nice work there, concept A is the one I like most. Seems ... err ... most of us agree on that :)

What you should keep an eye on is font kerning. It seems the kerning of mediavida is off ... at least it looks that way. I would try to insert a bit more space between the letters ... just a little bit, so if you resize it it doesn't come together.

Marius is right also, with the alignment of the 2 letters (d, m).

    concept a

I'd definitely go with concept a. Concept b is a little rigid, and concept c looks really like a microsoft logo. So, obviously I'd go with a.

    Mediavida typeface

Posted on Aug 20, 2009 at 10:52 AM

As commented by others, A is the strongest concept in my eyes. The mv and circular marque work well together and fit nicely. Simple but neat. The mv typeface in A is certainly stronger than the other sketches.

That said, the mediavida doesn't work so well. In some respects I prefer the mediavida font used in C - although it won't fit ideally with the MV from A. There's a middle ground though I think. I also wonder whether a very subtle outer glow effect around the type might give it a bit of extra techy buzz feel to it. Just some thoughts!

Very positive others. I'd be proud to own this logotype!

    Concept A... but...

Posted on Aug 23, 2009 at 3:56 AM

I personally believe that all the buzz around "BETA" versions and so on is really not necessary.

It's obvious that portal needs to evolve and it will. There's no need to indicate that fact with "BETA" ribbon.

Instead would be wise to attach a Feedback feature for your users to show you the path of development.

One more thing regarding the website: you can aggregate some top-topics and hottest games in the footer. This will boost SEO and will help a bit users with navigating. Take a look at gamespot.com for an example.

    Good luck! Great job!

    Concept A

Posted on Aug 24, 2009 at 4:05 AM

It has to be concept 'A' for me. The font fits the site far better in 'A' than it does in the other 2.

I like the Circle graphic in 'C' but I think halving it means that you limit where it can be positioned when used elsewhere. It would always have to be on the left edge.

    alignment

Concept A but i find the subtext is too big. Try to make it smaller and align it giving more space to the letters. And align better also the symbol.

The first one, A for the win.

Posted on Aug 26, 2009 at 1:14 AM

It fits best into the orange box and is well balanced in sizes and typography i like it. The site looks fresh too!

The second one there is to much going on with the Mv characters and the third one is just too small and too thin for that background.
