    Yours is better

Pretty obviously. It always sucks to have people who have no clue about it tell you what to do.

    I think they were right

    Hi Ionut

Given that I don't know the language, here are my impressions of the two designs:

afis0: this looks like a personnel advertisement for a Project Manager, something I would expect to see in the Careers section of a trade magazine or newspaper. There is no major focal point, something every good poster needs so as to be seen from a distance.

afis3: this has the appearance of an information piece letting students know what sections are required for graduation as a Project Manager. The main heading – MODULE – conveys this clearly. The central list of modules are the main focus and make the poster work much better as a communication piece.

    So perhaps they were right?

    Hope this helps.

an all that red doesn't bother you ?

For afis0.jpg, the big black and red section (it's the university logo) it's not the main focal point ? because that is what I tried there ...

      Thanks for the review Steve.

On the contrary, all the red serves to draw more attention and push the eye towards the centre column of reversed type.

I can see what you did with the abstraction of the logo as a design element, but I don't think it constitutes a focal point. From a communication standpoint, the other one is much more direct in conveying the information.

      Aha, I understand.

For me the red is very irritating, I could understand if you have a relatively small message to spread, and use big font size to get the contrast so in that case using the red in the bg to draw attention would be perfect, and of course having a lot of white space.

Probably if they would have let me do something else not using exactly that stupid logo format for the bg, it would have been more interesting on red.

So thanks again and if you have some more to say pls do because I want to make this in to a debate ... I want to use you guys to gain some more print concepts haha :D

Depends on the context - what is it for?

I am assuming this is an advert for a University Course. However where is it going to be displayed.

As a poster on the wall - I prefer their's. It would be striking at a distance. The text is readable. Although I don't really like the text on the red (white or black) as it looks a bit hard to read.

If it were a job advert or advertising a degree in a magazine. I would probably choose your design. Where the focus is clearly on the Header (although I think the leading (vertical spacing) is not great right at the top - CURS AUTORIZAT is too close to PROIECT).

Contextual design is the key (-:

      Hi Lisa,

your assumption is right, and to be honest ... I have no idea where it's going to be displayed. I made up a flyer to but it's exactly like the poster so I didn't upload it.

It's going to be posted on walls and some billboards I think.

so to let you know what the title is : "curs autorizat" - approved course

and "Manager de Proiect" - Project Manager.

Can you tell me more on Contextual design ? of course it hard to take this in to consideration because they will never invest money in studies like the typical college graduates that will take or want to take this course ...

      and thanks for the review.
