I want my credits..
I really like #2 its the best put together, even though the text is sideways.
The red really stands out and works great as a color to work with on business cards/websites.
I feel there is a tad bit too much space after supervisors. TINY BIT.
Love the font you chose for the PSL and the actual name itsself.
is the name font bebas? Good job, this is FAR better than what you started with.
Hey there Aaran, its looking good!
I love the addition of the red to the logo, its really going to go well with the site design and the red icons you've used. Possibly the only suggestion I have for the logo at this point is to change the white to gray on the text for "Property Supervisors Ltd". I like #2, with the red, but the white text on the black verticals is competing too much with the red and white.
The mockup looks a little bitmapped, so I can't tell if you've included subtle gradients, though it might be nice to give the red some hint of dimension.
Thanks Jamie, I'll upload a different image type to see if the clarity is any better!
Yup I'd go with Number two .... it is the only one that shouts property at me (-:
Only thing is it does make it quite busy all that black and white text sideways.... Not sure what you can do about that. Aside for greying it out in some way.
Hi Aaran
I've been looking at this for a while now and after being unsure at first, have come back to it with fresh eyes. It has really grown on me, to the point of familiarity and complete acceptance. Nice work.
Prefer No.2. Works well in both colourways. If mono reproduction is a requirement, I would set the left (psl) block as a tint of black, not solid colour. It might improve the dynamic slightly, to match that of the two colour version.
Minor refinements: make the space after the Y match those of the other two "stacks". Which would also happily make it the same height as the cutout in the left (psl) block. Look at whether you can increase the space under the letters a little and lift them further off the baseline. Simply increase the descender of the P.
I would be interested to see the PSL in roman rather than italic, as the tension between the left side cutout and the slope of the P is disturbing. But that may be a good thing and best left alone.
Hope this helps.
Steve, that's very helpful indeed, I tried the PSL in roman, and it looked off balanced, but maybe it's the font... Thanks for the input on the spacing, I agree on that...
Great review, and very inciteful.
I missed your previous concepts so I am coming to you with fresh eyes for this project. Hope it's not something you covered already. Here goes.
For me, #2 is the winner. The scale of the blocks tell me its dealing with property or real estate. The text being vertically aligned is not a problem for me. And since it's simply restating what "psl" stands for, it shouldn't hurt brand equity.
I'm not a big fan of the font used in "psl" it's only okay for me. Can't put my finger on why exactly. I think it might have something to do with the strong nature of the written out words in all caps, against the all lowercase subservient acronym of "psl" It could also be that the space between the bottom and the edge of the "L" is too tight for my liking.
The concepts for #1 are nice and all, but feel they don't really speak to the type of clientele as good as #2. It's almost too bland, and the background blocks feel more like a trending technique used in some modern websites today.
Thanks Mark appreciate the feedback...
Red or Black? - which of the number 2 do you prefer?
I don't see a reason you have to have only one version. The red version gives you an accent color for other materials, while the black is great for those one color jobs. The black one is more readable IMO. Not to say that you cannot darken the red to a deeper darker red instead of the bright saturated red that you have now.
It's a pity that the red looks so washed out on here, it's actually a really nice color on my screen...
The font of property is BEBAS, good spotting kind sir!
