    A shockingly bad website.

Well Curtis, I think you know most of this to be honest...

    First off, visually.

Bad, bad, bad. The textures, the imagery, the disgusting typography. The logo is vile, the typography is again horrible, and the trailer image inappropriate for a logo.

    Secondly, layout.

The layout is conventional. Pages, with a navbar. There's really not much you can say about it. However, on my 24" screen, the site is mis-aligned and far too small.

    Thirdly, the code.

It's not valid code, and the use of tables is dated and inappropriate. It needs to be re-coded from scratch. The CSS should be loaded separately, rather than having it on every page.

Generally Curtis, this is a start from scratch job. There's nothing worth salvaging here. Additionally, the terrible logo, unless reworked itself, will severely hamper any new website. It doesn't matter how good a website is, if the logo on it stinks, the whole thing stinks.

I wish you all the best because I think you have quite a difficult task ahead of you.

Can some other people please offer similar constructive comments on why this site is not going to help to create a professional online business. I was just told they love this look and feel of the site, everything is working and looking great and just to add the capability for people all over the USA to be able to search for boat trailers and trailer parts and have this site be high ranking in SERP. I know from years of study and on the job experience that it all starts with a modern engaging user interface and website content built out using web standards based code that is optimized for SEO.

I am at a lose for words, I've explained the difference of a table based - cheapo ($500) website that is not at all flexible for the future of their online business .vs a web standards based site (5000+) using well written CSS and ExpressionEngine CMS to expand on the content. This kind of site is ready for an SEO campaign and is very expandable.

My thinking is to get the kind of SEO results they want we will need to approach this more professionally and look at the bigger picture. Maybe I am just not seeing something that is so awesome about this site.... idk :|

Hello Curtis, I also think as Michael. If you want something professional should be redesigned everything. Do not break down. Ascolta Trascrizione fonetica
