    Nice but

This design is nice and very simple, but seems a bit template-ish. I think it needs more call to actions in the header, like "Book a Tour" and maybe a "Search Tours" (but in German of course).

It is almost too clean and simple. I need something to engage me to click, to find our more, to see more images in the header, make the header a slider of feature tours with a call to actions to view that particular tour. Maybe a list of tours someplace that links to a detail of the tours.

This site http://www.rei.com/adventures/trips/europe/ireland.html is a bit more complex than your design needs but gives you a sense of the trip or tours, what to bring, trip reviews and photos.

Just seems like it needs a bit more.

    Good job though.

    Open and inviting

The design has a nice balance and a very attractive color.

It is soothing and relaxing. You could, perhaps, do more with the 'turned up page' effect by adding several images that look like Polaroid photos; pictures from a fun vacation with smiling people in them. That would better relate the purpose of the site, I think.

    Where's the people?

I love the very green scheme and the openness. Perhaps this would be attractive to urban people yearning for fresh air and open space. I'd add a picture lower in the page of a castle, or people or whatever. This site makes Ireland look like one very large green field. So if you're a German tourist, why would you get on a bus to tour Ireland? Can't you stay home and look at green fields? Well, maybe you can't (I've never been to Germany) The picture seems to be making the pitch for unimproved land or real estate... So I guess the picture is saying that there is space and nature in Ireland. It just surprised me that we don't see any pictures of towns or people. (By the way, I love the green.) I think I would include some people, or towns, or even a picture of a pub, etc. So without the pictures of people or towns, how do you get the "engagement"? I think I would give thought to a slider where the visitor could look at pictures...

    Undone...

Very nice start, fresh looking and tasteful... The slider with a few different pictures mentioned above seems like a very good idea. I would also add a few boxes below the main banner and before about us text, with image thumbnails and a description of where to go next on the site( like tours, places to go or whatever information will be available for the user) Call to action would be very helpful too.

    The title fonts .. cheesy

Posted on Oct 19, 2010 at 6:31 AM

I love the flicking up photos and the simple design.

I really hate the fonts. I think they make it look like a brand of biscuits and they don't sit well with the clean style of the design.
