Eric,
I must say this design (online amended version) gives you so much more credibility. Good work!
Icons are not supporting the message of: home, download, help. You have enough of games elements and icons should be icons not another images.
The same with icons in 1,2,3 in the left bottom corner. 1 and 2 are not saying Download or Compete/win.
Trusted since 1997 should not be in the colour of logo. It will be more visible this way.
I would change the horizontal slider gold buttons with links below <<Previous games Next games>> as a lot of users will not see those buttons and you have enough graphical elements there.
Put a stronger emphasis on your Unique Selling Point which would be tournament and winning money.
Think about future and moving TG from download to browser experience.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Hi,
I just took a look at the running website, and you know what's the main problem to new users? They all can see lots of dollar symbols and sums of money, and they think the have to pay to play...so I think you should add a FREE Badge somewhere so you can communicate that to the new users!
The Design doesn't look bad, but it needs some improvements I will add some notes to highlight some stuffs!

Make everything on the header a little bit smaller please: - the logo, the menus, even the drop down menu which here doesn't show up, but I notice it on the running website!
That button is really ugly mate...the font used is pixelate, doesn't look that nice!
Very good points, thank you. We are going to start polishing this stuff up today!
I'll jump right at it here, consistency! There are at least 5 or 6 font sizes on the page and I personally think this is too much for one page. Try to stick to headings. H1, H2, H3 and if it is really needed a H4. This isn't the only consistency problem, also the rounded borders on the site aren't all the same, some are 5px (i think) some are smaller and some have none. Stick to one rounded border size and stick to it. Also at the mid section of the index screen the 2 right fields have a green header with a title, why not give the left one a header and a title also? These are small things but added up they do form a big issue.
The footer is also an odd color that doesn't really blend with the rest of the site. Try sticking to the color scheme you have for your design. The footer just feels like it doesn't belong there.
And now the thing that I do believe needs a complete makeover....The logo. I think it can be much better and more appealing to your audience, right now it looks a bit outdated even for 30 to 60 year olds. It also kind of clashes with the site design, but this is a more personal opinion, I am not much of a gambler or casino gamer.
I also think that the menu doesn't need those icons either, even without the icons it will look good and in my opinion it will actually look even better without icons since the icons don't have a meaning connected to the menu link in this case. Also because of the :hover background change, it just doesn't look so good.
But I do have to say that it is a big improvement compared to the previous design. So keep up the good work! I am certain that you will be bringing in new registrations pretty soon.
Thank you Mohammed! We are working on the tweaks now. Hopefully we will have this version live in the next day or so!
This is much better than the old version, but is still a bit rough around the edges.
I would put some time into looking at the spacing and proportions of the design, and also the colour schemes used. Green is a given, but the blue looks a bit childish, and the orange on green headings just doesn't work.
I would also consider the call to action. There's doesn't seem to be a single thing for the person to do. This may be fine, but at the moment I don't feel compelled to click anything.
The 1, 2, 3 box looks a bit boring, but is also one of the most important elements on the page. Maybe brighten that up a bit more, and add a big "Get Started" button to the bottom of it?
Finally - and this is probably nit picking - but the footer looks rather similar to the Miniclip.com one. I don't think it's a big problem, but if I were you I'd consider at least changing the colours to blend more with your site.

I'd make this a pale shade of green to tie into the background colour scheme better
Orange on Green doesn't work, and is likely to be unreadable by some people. A tip for you. Taker the screenshot and make it greyscale. Can you still understand everything? If it's hard to read then it's going to be hard for someone else when in colour. I'd make the text a lot darker
Left align the titles. The text should be consistent and nothing else is centered. Generally left aligned stuff is easier to digest
Are these links? They looks like they should be but it's not clear
A big button that takes you to the install page should be at the bottom here.

I think it's pretty obvious the text in here needs fixing. I'd left align it.
The button is stuck all on it's own. I would move it closer to the number 1.
You don't need to see this until you have installed the app - IMO it will reduce the effectiveness of the page
What I do like about this design is that the interface almost feels like a slot machine interface, which reminds me of games, gaming etc.
I also really like the 1,2,3 box you have going there. Possibly suggest moving this up more, into a 'banner area'
The icons on the main nav aren't doing this design any favors though. Despite that you would like to call attention to those actions, the navigation is not a place to do that necessarily. Think of it this way, instead of adding icons & images to the navigation, add navigation to icons & imagery.
For instance, the big text starts off with a great call to action, "Join..." which will like increase conversions, but getting them to the next step as some above mentions, adding the text "download...free" below that will drive home the message. "Longest running skill game site" tells me very little this high up the page. (that info is great on your About page)
Now... about the color palette. I like the green in that it reminds me of gaming (felt, money, gold, etc.). But if you want to convey a sense of trust, your palette is going to be very important. Consider researching high class gaming establishments, and looking at their sites. They want to convey the same thing to the same market. Softer, bolder, subtle, strong. Colors that enhance each other. Blacks, grays, green and gold accents.... just a thought. Suggest researching color schemes and how they make users "feel"
The colors might be too overpowering. May I recommend a little fresher?
I still feel that it's lacking alot from the other version you had up. The footer black color doesn't seem to work well with the theme. The "download", "choose game"...etc margined too high up. Give this a little padding to center the contents within the box. You have green and yellow as colors....so where does the blue fit in? I would recommend changing this blue gradient to a yellow or the like...to match the overall color scheme of the rest of the site.
The logo is not working for me, maybe games should be centered, and there are to much noise in the background.
Overall, pretty interesting design and layout. The biggest problem I see is that I find my eyes wanted to stay along the outside edges of the site - the green areas - and I'm hesitant to look at the inner areas of the website. I think the contrast is a bit too stark on the interior divs; maybe dim those down a bit. Also, the contrast when you hover over the top icons is far to stark, from dark green to white. And the icons look nice, but, without looking, don't really communicate anything to me.
But pretty good start, it's interesting in the way that a Game website should be.
I see this is a games site but to me it is looking like every other games site on the internet so this could be a great opportunity to do something quite different that will still resonate with the target audience but ultimately make this site alone stick out in their mind.
Interaction and usability i'm sure is fine but i would definitely, depending onthe budget, look to revisit the design with something that differentiates from the other game sites.
That is the tough part, it's hard to do anything different on the net anymore, at least it is getting progressively tougher. And, I always get nervous, that if I do something that is "too" different, I may miss the mark totally. I was trying to step out on a limb and try that with my nav icons, and lo and behold, nobody here really gets what I was going for :) At least, we are a small and nimble shop and can make changes at the drop of a hat!
We are going to hash over these things today. Concerning the icons, I'm sure you know more than most how hard it is to create unique icons, and fit in to a site's theme. I guess I was trying to be an innovator and go totally different with my icons :). My thought was to relay the idea of games, games, games everywhere for the new visitors. Even if they really had no relevance tied to each menu item. Man, doing graphics is tough. I started to hire a company to do the graphics, but quickly found out from their first submission, that they did not get what we do, and didn't even follow my template. So, that was going to take ages and lots of money, so I just did it myself. I am attached to my little icons, but I am a big boy and can let go, just if I could find a nice and fun alternative.
We tried the flash style games back in 2002, put them side by side with our DirectX games, and they flopped. When users had a choice to download a 1 meg file to have the benefits of full screen graphics, vs a 250k flash game, the results overwhelmingly leaned toward DirectX. I guess it would kinda be like trying to talk Unreal Tournament players into using a flash version!
Thank you for all your help, this is a great site, and I will DEFINITELY be using it for my future projects
