maybe continue the blue that is on the "I" as waves across all the letters. Just a thought. I like what you have though!
I really like the colors. It feels cool and wet. My only suggestion would be to make the water level throughout the word
i love love it. theres just something about it where it can be better overall. i feel like it needs SOMETHING... i just don't know what...
its a small change needed, like maybe the water droplet just doesn't look natural enough or something.
yea I was thinking about making the water droplet a bit more sharp and shiny. definitely gotta polish it up still. thanks for the input
I agree the drop doesn't look natural enough but glossing it up is not the answer! I would suggest maybe making the whole in the b the shape of a water drop and maybe that can bring it together. Or something along those iines
Hey Chris :)
I see the people are way excited about your logo. My opinion seems to be on the minority's site :). Well ... it happens.
I like the idea, I don't like the implementation very much and here's why:
It doesn't look real. The drop is not a drop and the glass is not a glass if you know what I mean. The drop is to filled up. Try a little experiment: Put some water in a glass and see how it looks like ... also try to create some drops when pouring it into a different recipient ... you'll see what I mean.
The logo is not web 2.0 :). It looks conservative. Web 2.0 is nothing like this. It's all about rounded corners, shadows and glossy surfaces. This: http://www.devbridge.com/ is web 2.0! (It's the most handy example, right now - didn't pick it for any other particular reason).
The font looks plain to me. ITC Franklin Gothic is not really a good representative for web 2.0. It's a really old font.
That's my own two cents. Good luck with your freelance endeavor :)
Hi Zeno. thanks for the feedback. i am thinking of making the font arial-rounded for the revised version along with an improved droplet and a level water fill. hopefully that will add some '2.0'esque. these suggestions are priceless, thanks again.
I like the second one more, but would add some splashes on the right and on the left to make it more "alive"
use the same water drop design to replace the small black capsule/circle in the letter 'b'
The idea is great and I prefer the top version with bolder font and like the look of "thirsty" where it looks like water is within the word. One thing i would change is straight line seems a bit static so i would use wavy line to show it is water. (hope it makes sense! :-) )
Tahe a step back, the original font is more powerful. You might consider a lighter shade of blue to help "web" popout of the background more.
The touch of blue in the "i" seems nourishing. The line of blue across the whole word seems like it's drowning.
I think just the "I" filling up is a stronger design than the entire "thirsty" filling up. Nice work.
Whatever you do, don't listen to the guy that said to use arial rounded. Bad idea. There are a plethora of fonts out there that could work really nicely. Somebody else mentioned it just "needs something". I agree. I think that it is still a little visually static. I think the typography here expresses a rigidness- something that is decidedly not the current state of the web. I know it would be different, but what if you used a more decorative font like BREE. I think that could add some flavor and it is still very cool. As for the line of water, yeah, I think it should be higher and not straight across.
I like the font...the concept of the logo, and the color... I just don't like where the word "web" is placed. I'd almost like to either see it inline or in a different font tucked above the "th" and to the left of the water drop
Overall this is an awesome logo that really shows originality. I think however that the second one's fonts are to thin. Great Job!
Have you tried making the word WEB simply BIG stretching above the word thirsty. It will reinforce how big the web is and how little thirsty is needing a drink then have the word web dip into the word thirsty?
Just a thought. This logo looks so fun to come up with new ideas for.
I do like the idea of expanding that water across the word in a swooshy wave of some sort. So hard to determine without seeing it. Is there any way to push web over to the right a bit, so the drip fits in that little triangle the bottom of the b has?
If your done moving stuff around my final choice would be the top one.
I like the smart style!
Maybe the water surface (letter i) should be visible all over THIRSTY letters?
Great Concept! Great Logo! Great Job!
Hey Chris, nice-looking logo. After reading through the comments, I'll jump into the water drop discussion too ... these are just suggestions ... what if the drop were actually slightly connected to the bottom of the B? What if the blue water level in "Thirsty" were the same for all letters? And one final thing, have you thought of including a tagline? You explain your company concept well in the intro, but do you think maybe adding a tagline would help potential clients also understand what you do?
wow... 12 hours later and all these comments? what a great website. anyway, it seems the water droplet and water level on 'thirsty' are my biggest concerns. i am going to give these recommendations a shot and update this concept asap. thank you all for such great advice!
I like this logo a lot! Very original and indeed web 2.0.
I shouldn't change a thing about it!
Congrats!
