    a few things..

Posted on Sep 03, 2010 at 3:53 PM

    • the big circle (O) looks like a bomb- something with the fire, is that the idea? as u said, OX means oxygen but then the O is like a bomb- doesn't fit.
      • you have an advantage of having X as ur last character, you can utilize that shape and create something out of it.
      • the boxed custom web services text doesn't match with this style, drop the box- keep the text simple, may be just underlined.
      • the inner shadow effect (light blue/dark blue) u have for the text and the O- that is web 2.0- and that effect is already overused on the web, i would stay away from that especially for a logo.

i was talking about the flames on top.. and if u r making bubbles at the bottom, let it look like bubbles- u do have circles but more than bubbles they look like just round pieces coming out of big O.. bubbles have its own character (they are not always a perfect circles), use that.

it's cool, sleak. I feel that it's off balance though, the OX is off center and that throws the balance of the logo off.

Also, not sure what the little bubbles and two horn things are. What's the idea there?

Thanks for your comments, even i felt the same the oxygen bubble doesn't fit the frame.

I will come up with new idea.

If you guys can suggest any ideas regarding the oxygen concept, that will be very great full.

    Hi Manohar,

you have a lovely name here "SYSOX" but I think you have to work on this logo a little bit ..

for me I have these points to work on :

    • Change this font
    • Git red of the flame and the blue circle
    • Try other color and test adding another color
    • Try using the shorten "O²"
    • Remove the gray box under the slogan

that's all, hope to see your new version of it...

    Good luck

    I like it

I like your logo, just get rid of those flames and locate those small circles on that position (oxygen alway is going up ).

I don't think is necessary that box at "custom web services" either

    good work Manohar

    The decorations

Posted on Sep 06, 2010 at 12:38 PM

Overall you need to simplify. There are too many things going on with the logo, but underneath all those decorations is a nice elegant logotype.

First, let's address each element. • The flames at the top are very illustrative and could be simplified further. For example, right now they look like two separate flame shapes, and the negative space between them is ugly.

    • The bubbles... there are too many bubbles and they are too small. My favorite are the three on the bottom right, each one a different size, but the rest look tacked on.

    • The glare effect is unnecessary and makes your fire/oxygen thing look like water.

    • The box around custom web services is too heavy, unnecessary. Keep it simple.

Now... I would suggest that you get rid of the flames, or the bubbles. Just keep one element and make it the hero. I think the bubbles coming out of the top would be more interesting, and think about how many bubbles you are placing and where you are placing them.

I hope that helps, I think this could be beautiful once simplified :)

    Nice and bold...

Posted on Sep 03, 2010 at 3:16 PM

On the cusp of a quite simple striking design.

I like the way the name stands out and hits you. If I had created it I would have tried carrying the highlight curve across from the 'bubble' on to the 'SYS' lettering.

Not too sure about the elements coming out of the bubble - not convinced if they add anything to the design and actual draw the eye away from the main message.

The same goes for the shadow under custom web services. Either carry it through into the rest of you design or take it away.

Logo does not fit the product

Posted on Sep 07, 2010 at 3:48 AM

Well I think the heading said it all.

I don't see the connection between web services and oxygen.

Somehow this logo reminds me of an anti-acid tablet.

    Sorry, but no.

I hear you when you say it combines Systems and Oxygen. But it also combines Systems + Oxen

Hate to do this to you but I really think you could run with that concept of hard working animals instead of the harder to convey concept of Oxygen.

    a little devilish?

Posted on Sep 08, 2010 at 1:53 PM

I don't see molecules, I see flames. It looks a little devilish to me. I like the font choice of SYSOX, and I like the way the OX is offset and violates the circle.

What doesn't work for me is the flames and the little bubbles (molecules?) off to the bottom right. You might represent them with a transparent circle with atoms circling a nucleus, but this could get too busy if you're not careful.

The tag "custom web services" doesn't work for me with the font choice, the all lower case treatement, and the little box it sits in. It seems very separate and almost like an after-thought. Is there a way you could incorporate it into the main body a bit more? You provide the power -- the servers, the software, the hardware...maybe wire this tag into the main body a bit to help show integration.

Good start. Like to see the next round!

    Simplfy

Posted on Sep 11, 2010 at 6:12 AM

Too much going on. The small elements will not scale well. The box around the 'web services' is odd, i think. The bubbles and flame a little confusing. I think the SYS is a little too spaced.

however, I do like it despite all this.

    I would simplify.

Posted on Sep 14, 2010 at 1:35 PM

Most of the comments made about cover it, so forgive me for repeating. Yes there is too much going on. Flames must go, fewer bubbles if you must keep them, lose the box around 'custom web services'. All are necessities to me.

    Optional:

If you wish to keep the contrast in "SYS" then you should drop the colour divide and carry it lightly through the "OX". Whether you carry it through the letters OX or the circle is up to you, but it should flow. I don't mind the font, other to suggest perhaps something just a little less vertical. Just a little.

Forgive the cliche, but to say it should be minimalised is probably the best way to summarise it. Overall I think it's great though. Good work.

    rethink "custom web services"

Posted on Sep 14, 2010 at 4:48 PM

I really like the logo. It is not very creative nor original but it reflects stability and robustness.

I would not use any box-effects around "custom web services". The line seems to be lost also in relation to sysox.

if you have to explain the logo then its not right

Posted on Sep 24, 2010 at 2:18 PM

I like the design but I don't understand the big bubble/circle. A logo isn't really worth explaining either. But great colors and font.
