It's better, but I still think your main selling points are getting lost. I made a quick mockup - you need to have your artist make it work, but:
Put the search box underneath, not up in top nav. Maybe change the word "search" to "shop" or "go shopping!'
I still have a hard time with "Save time" and "Browse"
I'm not a fan of the small script font - too hard to read for my taste.
No problem. Let me know when the next revision is ready to look at. I don't know if what you do is to let people "find the really great deals others got" but if you do, I think that might be a really strong selling point. Everyone has buyer's remorse from time to time, and most people assume they didn't get the best deal possible -- if you can tease them that they can find out what deals other people are getting, well, hey.....
Michelle,
I wouldn't remove the search from the top, as your going to need it on all the pages and it keeps the look consistent, but I would also have a search box on the homepage like the mock up from the other reviewer as people have just landed on the site and you want them to start searching, and it'll look familiar to them (google-esque) so they instinctively know what to do.
Two things are confusing me, the 'We're a lil orange shopping' doesn't really mean anything to me and it's like what are you telling me? And the 'We focus on small sellers on these great sites', what does that mean? That you don't look at the full inventory on them sites, only particular sellers?
Again I agree with the other review that you need something along the line of popular or recent searches just to show what other people are looking at, pretty sure that will work better than browse. And then you could move the browse below them, maybe use a carousel so its not 30 odd images.
One thing on the usability side of things is that you having got a category toolbar, so lets say I've done a search but now I want to browse a particular category, how do I do that?
I know you're an "orange" site but it's a little too orange - fatiqueing to my eye.
I can't read the tag line under the company name - needs to be a bigger font.
I don't understand what the "Love these Merchants" section is all about.
I would like to see a little more interest for each of the product thumbnails - I don't care for the white backgrounds. The camera and books are particulary unappealing.
Do you plan to have any type of navitaiton up top?
I understand from the site that it's a free service, but who are you, how do you make money? Is this something that the product manufacturers pay to appear in? If it's supposed to be non-biased, that needs to be communicated somehow.
Good luck with your business!!
Renaye
Great layout for the website's purpose. I'm not sure about the orange color. But everything else looks good. Maybe for the item categories you can have some sort of background colored box.
Thanks for taking the time to make a mockup. It's easier to visualize.
Your wording is very direct and terse. I'll give this another shot. ;-)
