To be honest I don't have anything to add beyond the fact that the shortened line length and new purchase button at the bottom of the page are a massive improvement over the last version.
The only comment I would add is to make the buttons more buttony. Add a bevel and some depth so they look more like the buttons in Windows. This really is a minor thing though and won't make much different to the design overall.
I think the only way to see if this is successful now is to build and launch it, and then do some A/B testing to see what converts best.
Also you've mentioned the footer a few times but I actually quite like what you have there, not sure it needs any work :)
have you done any research into your target audience. Whether you use CSS2 or 3 doesn't really matter. The majority of customers will be using IE8 or below, in which case none of this stuff will display anyway.
Steven,
great improvement and very little I can add to make this better. We might ask you if we can use your concepts as a case study for why Concept Feedback is a good tool. :)
Nice to see all of the suggestions applied and I think this page is much more effective than the initial design.
I would bump up the size of the title font just a bit, because it should explain the visual hierarchy of data.
If you were to ask me how this could be improved in the future I would recommend adding a video which would show how easy it is to use this / install it.
Cheers! A.
Hi Aurimas,
Thanks for your comments, I'll look into doing a video in the future!
Sure, use whatever concepts you need. If you want me to write anything to go with it then give me a shout.
Cheers,
Steve
this is getting better..
Hi Abhishek,
All done, thanks!
I think I've implemented most of your ideas for this site, lets see what you can do with my other 10+ active ecommerce sites! I'll put them up soon.
Cheers,
Steve
I wish I could see the page before this one, assuming I didn't click a link to get here directly from an advertisement. In my opinion, the design is just so-so, but it does communicate all of the necessaries.
I might suggest putting a picture of the Citroen Xsara on this page as well. I know, the target is males, and most likely very savvy, very techie, and very mechanical. But it's always nice to see a reminder that this unit is indeed for the car I own or am working on. Plus, the car is a lot sexier looking than this little unit.
Your copy starts with a question - do you want more power and better economy. Hmm. I think so. And I know this is for the UK market, but really, quite so understated? How about a bolder headline:
More power AND better fuel economy!
or if you want to be questioning:
More power AND better fuel economy?
I would highlight the full money back guarantee, and I would highlight the payback time - this unit will pay for itself in just over a year - and then every year after that you save.
Hi Ben,
Thanks for your comments.
I wanted to keep the buttons in CSS2/3 as much as possible due to loading times, as CSS3 is more widely available then I'll start doing buttons with multiple backgrounds and I'll be able to have the corners. I'll try and make it look a bit more like a button without the corners though.
Cheers,
Steve
