    You need a makeover!

    Hi,

    1) Current design has too many problems as most of the concepts used are now outdated.

    2) Your real problem is that you have not shown the client how good a website can look. That is the reason the client is sticking to things which are no longer relevant .

    3) Check existing real estate websites and show some of these to your client. Once the he / she sees it, he /she will be ready to see whatever you suggest.

Then you will be able to present new refreshing looks that will make your client happy.

    Hope this helps.

Try this: Logo on left top corner. Menu bar arranged horizontally instead of vertically.

I had a lot of problem with their logo , actually that long vertical bar is part of their logo , i can place it either at left or right.

I also had the idea to place the Green bar at top , but i wasn't allowed to do that.

    1. The color scheme is a little hard on the eyes. I would definitely experiment with the colors. A good place to start is http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes. Try using some of these color palettes on the site.

    2. Get rid of the text running along the top. Stick with just having the logo with the column in the upper left hand corner.

    3. Ditch the home button and icon. Integrate the home link with the rest of the navigation.

    4. The navigation looks big, clunky and outdated. See articles like this one for inspiration! http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/02/04/50-beautiful-and-user-friendly-navigation-menus/

    5. I agree with the other reviewer, priyadarshan. You need to force the client to see how good a site can look. You've given into their demands with this design, but if you do your own thing and just show them, they'll probably be really impressed and realize they are wrong.

Thank you Bonnie , 1. Actually that was their Branding color , I can do anything with that.

      1. Vertical Green-Bar is part of their logo , so it is not possible to have just logo element at the left top.

      2. I made the Home button with the rest of Navigation before , but later they asked me to place it their.

      3. Thanks a lot for the Links , i will learn from them soon :).

      4. That was my last mistake and i will learn a lot from the guys here at conceptfeedback, Thanks a lot.

    More White

Posted on Aug 30, 2010 at 1:43 PM

The colors scheme is dull and making everything difficult to read. I feel like it could use a lot more white space. Although everything is really gridded out and geometric, there's not a lot of balance and some things appear off-set. I like the "4th draft", but the image of the windmills in the background are distracting with the clash of the text.

    Put your stamp on it!

I'm going by the fact that you want to improve the concepts.

No matter what you do and how great your design, that logo will drag it down so first of all, throw that out the window!

Yeah, it's not really how you should behave with clients but the others are right, you need to show them what a website looks like in 2010, and you just have to say in a nice way that their logo is outdated. You won't be able to convince them unless you show them, so really if you did want to give them an improved concept, start from scratch and give them a new logo and colour scheme. Look around on the web and see what their competition is doing and that should point you in the right direction.

    Good luck!

Thanks a lot , i will work with concepts and first will show them how is the Design in 2010. But when they gave us links to designs they like , sometime they want something similar , So what you think what is the best design process for such clients ?

To be honest, it's quite work intensive and you may not reap the rewards of your labour (so to say) but providing them two designs might be the way to go, one design that you feel is better for them and one design that sticks to their spec. That way, they see what is possible. Also, maybe showing them some feedback from others will open their eyes. Remember that the design might not be up to your standards but if it pays the bills, do what they want and don't put it on your portfolio.

One way to 'rescue' the current design would be to: Move the logo above all the buttons (inc. Home) and keep one left side green column Change the background image, maybe just keep it white. Use relevant images to convey the business Reduce the text, most companies have left the whole 'We are a local etc' stuff behind, and the more important stuff is the list underneath 'Construction and project management etc'

Thats just one way of doing things.

    Change the colors

Posted on Sep 14, 2010 at 4:28 PM

    Hello,

I am not a big fan of this design I'm afraid.

    • I don't like the colors, be creative
    • get rid of the background and use more white
    • be carefull with "button" effects on the menu. Use the right colors to blend (green is difficult)
      • the second design is allready "lighter" but again, the background keeps you away from the content (which you want your visitors to read no ?)

I would recommend to use link text

    Terrible Colors

Posted on Feb 07, 2011 at 9:07 AM

The color scheme is terrible. The green/yellow is putrid.

    Background image does not work.

I don't even know what to review.
