The organization of elements are good but the logo needs a litle bit more "finish"

Could you please elaborate a bit more? I would appreciate a bit more reasons why you've given my design the scores you have. What do you think I could improve on? Etc?

What do you mean by 'finish'? This logo isn't a logo for a company or anything. It's just the name of the template. I'm asking a review more on the template design itself; the logo is relatively meaningless.

Why only one for orginality? What do you find unoriginal about it? I know it may look a lot like other Wordpress blog themes but in order for people to be able to use it, it has to be like this. What do you think about the design however?

Again, please give more information. Thanks, Matthew.

Well, At first, i liked your work. I mean the alignment of elements, the "finish" are just this. About the originality i make a mistake :(. The logo make sense now. Just improve the visual, try to call atention for specific points like last posts, or the banner.

Hope you understand my view point, good job and sorry for mistakes :)

    Blue line

Posted on Aug 21, 2010 at 1:50 PM

Hey Matthew, the theme is simplistic n minimalist and very nice. Only point I'd make is the blue line below the top bar (the social icons bar) which I feel does not 'fit in' in the theme. Removing it would do.

A point not relating to the UI - You probably know this but, please make sure the theme is compatible with some of the popular plugins and widgets (I had this prob with one of the themes I liked for my blog, that's why.)

    top navigation

This is a very beautifully designed theme. My thoughts: - I find my eyes completely ignored the navigation at the top. This could be because of the large photo. Perhaps the nav should be anchored below the logo. - seems odd that the category navigation is both to the right of the logo AND under the photo. I think the placement under the photo is more visible and fits better with the design of the theme. The blue line is repeated in the header. So I'd ditch the category links to the right of the logo. - having social networking links at the top of the page seems odd to me. Most of the time when you decide to "share" something, you decide that after you've spent some time reading the content, which typically happens at the end of the main content. I'd ditch the links and only have them on article pages at the bottom of the article/blog entry. Or move them to the bottom of the page.

Overall, very well designed theme. Excellent work!

Hi. Thanks for your review. Greatly appreciated. I will consider some of your thoughts & will revise the design.

As for the category links beneath the slider; these don't like you to archives. Instead clicking each one filters the top 5 posts from that category. The category links to the top right of the logo link to an archive of all the posts in that category.
