Hello Avinash,
I really like the logo and think you've done a really good job.
Rather than design problems I think you have technical problems because you have tried to merge a hi resolution image in the lens with low resolution type.
That is why people are saying the type doesn't look like it's been given proper attention. It's starting to pixelate and the anti-aliasing isn't crisp which it is on the lens.
You need to redo the type and make sure you set the size right in photoshop to start off with so 72dpi and the correct xxmm by xxmm size if it is just for the web or 300dpi at the maximum size you will use it if you want it to work for printed material too.
Overall though it is looking very nice.
Hi Avinash
Polly is spot on on spotting the potential problem here.
The type looks a different resolution to the photo lens which is why they are not working together.
It could be that when you did the type in photoshop, you rasterized it and then enlarged it which would throw the anti-aliasing out on the edges or it could be issues with compression on the jpeg.
Also the lens has really nice subtle drop shadow which would help to have a little one on the type just to help 'lift' it and give more definition but it would need to be just enough to lift and not enough to be very noticeable.
Hi, thanks for all the comments. I have posted two more variants. Looking forward to hear from you.
Much improved. This now looks like it is working together better.
I still prefer the logo with everything on one line. The problem you have with the other versions is that Enchanting is so much longer than Planet as a word and it has to go on the top line so it makes for an ugly logo shape. Headings and sub heads usually look better with a longer last line - not always but most of the time.
On the plus side the execution of the design is very professional. Good choice of font and colour and the I like the lens illustration.
Despite all the good work the design does come across as a little generic.
The text reflection looks a bit like an afterthought and could be more prominent and have more of an impact on the design
Also, the text looks a bit flat and underdeveloped in comparison to the lens, which seems like it's been squeezed in. Maybe you could distort the G and P to curve around the lens?
Look forward to seeing what you do to the design.
Hi, thanks for all the comments. I have posted two more variants. Looking forward to hear from you.
I think that the gradient on the text is a great improvement. How about adding a further highlight in order to add a bit more depth? - not too much though as there is a danger of making the text look too busy.
I quite like the stacked version with the illustration, but I don't think that it works as well as the original concept. I can't quite put my finger on the reason for this though.
I like the lens part, it looks real. But the text 'Enchanting' and 'Planet' look very ordinary in comparison. The text and image look to be from different planets altogether. You could maybe have the text around the lens. Or maybe make the round of the 'P' as the lens or something.
...in some settings. Not sure what this is for, actually. Would stack it, maybe add some element of the natural world, even if it's a texture somehow. Nice colors!
Love the lens in the middle, but maybe add some kind of gloss/shine to the text so they all work together. Is this company focusing more on wildlife/natural elements? Maybe include that somehow?
Love the colors!
You might want to try to stack 'enchanting' and 'planet'.
It really caught my attention with the lens in the middle. I say go with the first one and be diferent!
I like the type and I like the illustration of the lens. I am not sure how they function together. The type is very simple and minimalistic. However the lens is photo-realistic. How would this logo reproduce in one color? Perhaps more could be done with the idea of "planet." Could an image of the earth be reflected in the glass of the lens? This could signify the idea that the whole earth is a potential photograph (This could work for the field aspect of the company).
The silhouette of the photographer in the second is interesting (though it looks like he's using an older folding camera) but does it convey the idea of instructing new photographers?
I hope this maybe gives a different perspective.
Hi, thanks for all the comments. The logo is being done in photoshop @ 300 dpi. I have put on PNG files this time since jpeg is losing it's quality.
I have posted two more variants. Looking forward to hear from you.
