Hope this helps.
I think a better approach would be for you to first redesign the page and then let us review it, even if it is only conceptual or a sketch.
By letting us review this old site we are basically doing the redesign work, which is your job, not our job. Fair?
Anyway, the site looks like it is from the 90s. It is the typical "lets have a website because everyone has one" website. I would redesign it from scratch. The color tones are pleasant though.
Amargit, Ferdy is right, this community is called ConceptFeedback not InventConcept :) Create something, maybe even a wireframe and bring it here for review :)
Good luck :)
The fastest way to let people know that you have luxury motorhomes for sale a great prices is to show me.
Put up inventory on the home page with a call to action to view more details. The products in their rental and sale inventory look better than this standard RV picture on their home page.
I like the simplicity and approachability of the existing "shopping cart"/gallery and the call to action is right there with each listing.
Add a form to every page of the site to search for the motorhome you want. At the very least it needs to be on the home page.
Add a form to every page to send a request for the type of motorhome you want.
Address first timers and provide a tool to help them figure out what kind of motorhome they should get for their needs. Walk them through the process.
Its a difficult balance to be a luxury provider at great prices. You don't want the site to look too luxurious or it won't be approachable by their target audience.
Make the client review who their clients are and what they demographics are.
Elliptical logos were out in 1998. If you have ANY CONTROL over this, please please remove the elipse, it's making my eyes bleed. I think the words alone would look great. Remove the italics on "motor homes" aswell.
Overall it looks a bit Microsoft Frontpage-esc.
The design seems very confined. Try thinking out of the box a little more, and stop trying to "make it look like a website". For example, what about making the panorama span the entire width of the browser, and push it right to the top. As if the user is looking at a mountain scene FIRST, and a website second.
The design feels very claustrophobic, for a company that revolves around the outdoors.
In summary, try putting a user interface inside of the wilderness, not the other way around.
I'm not trying to tear you down here, I'm trying to be helpful. Let your creative juices flow a bit more, and look around at the other designs on the site to get a feel of how light and airy you can make a design feel.
Amarjit,
Hope this helps. All the best.
This is far too generic and looks like it's built on a free template.
If possible I would drop the ellipse (as suggested by others) and make the header far more dominant and expressive.
A good idea would be to take the lead image (motor home and landscape) and turn it into an eye-catching illustration. From there you need to make the design a bit more dynamic. At the moment the wood theme reminds me of all the negative associations with motor homes.
The first and most prominent image after the pages logo is an advert for "Villa Rental in Hyrenia, Cyprus".
Trying to get rid of me before ive even had a chance to look at the page eh!?
It seams like the ad is related and might be somewhere where I would want to go IN a motor home, but let me rent one before sending me off to other peoples sites please.
Same thing with the PDF. I came to the site looking for info, a pdf seams separate from the site.
I can see that your live URL has been re-designed and is much better. the "Testimonials" is falling behind the rotating image though. it needs a style="z-index:100" added to that last LI to keep it on top. Tell your web designer.
One of the first things I looked for was "Prices" It doesnt jump out at me where this is.
In MHO I would try and create some sections to break up the "squareness" of the site. It looks almost like a google site or something made on a mac. The footer needs to be at the bottom of the image also, or make it taller to fill to the bottom.
The image on the top would do better in some sort of border rather than just floating in that tan area.
Navigation is easy.
All one stars though?
